  1. I think it’s just incompetence for the most part. Her benefits took almost a month to kick in, so we were trying to get that money that she was owed. Someone made a mistake, and clicked the wrong “button” or whatever, and instead of getting a check for what we missed we get a demand letter saying we owe 15k in overpayment immediately. Of course, as is the case now, it took hours and hours to get ahold of an actual person, who was probably hired 10 minutes ago, and didn’t know what to do. And when it’s escalated to a supervisor, they admit they know what happened, but there is nothing they can do to fix it. it’s a pretty helpless feeling. We had to fight to prove the mistake they made was actually their mistake. Over a year later, and threats of tax intercepts and the whole lot, it got worked out, but not before it caused us a ton of grief. My wife is just happy it’s over, and understandably so, but I told her now that this is settled we should circle back and try to recover that month of payments she’s entitled too. Now I’m pissed off and want to get every penny we are due.
  2. So I remember posting about my wife’s unemployment issue here a few times where the state suddenly was requesting 16k back in unemployment she received in 2020. After fighting tooth and nail for over a year now she finally got a letter from them admitting they made a mistake and they are not going to be collecting that money. Absolutely ridiculous, but glad it got sorted out in the end
  3. We spring. Warmed the soul to have the sun out later last night
  4. Bob, Matt and I were talking about this last week. Definitely have heard a few here on the edges of the hockomock. Theyll become very vocal pretty soon.
  5. About an inch here. Pretty nasty out… roads are a mess
  6. Bare root 12-24” https://www.michiganbulb.com/product/lynwood-gold-forsythia-hedge?p=0819680&pid=73426&gclid=CjwKCAiAg6yRBhBNEiwAeVyL0Fz2O3-E-oUMZUTvhEEQfxwisxPylfrYM59ui7Vio7MQDVSg0hsM4hoCiQwQAvD_BwE instructions are sparse
  7. I don’t… or not really. If it won’t kill them, I’ll plant them
  8. Gasoline should do the trick, but at 4.50 a gallon, use sparingly.
  9. So if I get them next week plant em? Even if frost is coming?
  10. Anyone have experience with bare root plants? I was looking at buying a couple bare root forsythia. When can those be planted and how fast do they grow?
  11. Isn’t rising prices futures as well? If Brent rises today, why do prices rise today, but no vice Versa? The gas is already in the tank at the gas station. That gas isn’t costing more
  12. I wanted to do it in the fall, but was never able to get around to it. Is this absolutely a no go in the spring? It needs to be done, badly.
  13. It’s absolutely maddening that when crude rises, prices at the pump rise the same day… when it drops like today, no movement. Guess they are only in a hurry to raise prices, not drop them
  14. We’ve reached the point where it’s pretty much powderfreak and Phin talking to each other
  15. I think it’s also somewhat the younger generation is wising up to the ridiculous labor culture in this country. There is nothing wrong with hard work. I have done landscaping etc etc, and my position now is somewhat physical, but I think the younger generation is questioning work practices
  16. https://www.masslive.com/news/2022/03/gas-prices-jump-again-a-day-after-record-high-massachusetts-sec-of-state-william-galvin-calls-for-price-gouging-investigation.html?outputType=amp I guess gas stations raising prices 2 or 3 times a day is not great?
  17. Seems like opec so far is unwilling to pump more…. Gas rose again today at the station near my house… &4.39… id say we are about 40-50 cents away from a point where things really turn for the worse. People just straight up won’t travel if they don’t have too.
