  1. Looks like whatever Elsa does clears out for the weekend.
  2. Just an absurd level of stupidity there. They are trying to live in marshmallow land. Everything is awesome. Threat level 10 over 46 new cases. Good luck with that
  3. The Israel stuff is kind of misleading when you read about it. Again, it’s largely involving people who aren’t vaccinated. And like has been said all along, the breakthrough infections with people who are vaccinated are generally mild or asymptomatic. The vaccines are still incredibly effective at preventing severe disease. There is going to be 0 appetite for any new restrictions in the US if the vaccines are still very effective at preventing disease. Countries like Australia etc etc may be able to get away with selling people that garbage, but it won’t happen here.
  4. Out in la la land… but next week doesn’t look bad at this point… nothing glaring showing up on models
  5. Thursday and Friday look like they could really blow
  6. Heading to North Conway Saturday morning for a weeks vacation. Been rescheduled 3 times due to covid at this point. If the weather is junk I’m going to be pretty upset
  7. Thanks folks. It’s unfortunate timing, but what can you do. Life doesn’t always work out with perfect timing for everything. There really isn’t any transition for anyone I’ll need to train.
  8. Another job related question for folks more experienced than me. Ive accepted a new position like I said, and it all came together (or finished coming together) Friday, when I was off for the long weekend. I plan to return Tuesday, and give my notice. Ive had a planned vacation for months and months, and have had the time off approved since I believe December. Am I going to draw the ire of my employer when I give my notice on Tuesday that one of the two weeks of notice is going to be a vacation week? There really isn’t anything I can do at this point.
  9. Save this for Ray when he’s sucking exhaust in January
  10. So I’ve done a bit more research over the last couple days to my options for health insurance for those 2 months before my new plan kicks in. My wife is on some pretty expensive long term medication, so we are going to try to get those filled prior to me losing my current coverage, so she has enough to get to October 1st. There are a few other hurdles to work through as well, as she has several appointments that we’ll need to see if she can either do without, or be seen in the next few weeks. Does anyone here have any familiarity with masshealth? When I spoke further with the HR rep for the state, she directed me to the health connector to try to bridge the gap if I wanted. If I can get some sort of coverage for around what I pay now, I wouldn’t be opposed to going that route.
  11. 1.08” here and counting. First time since I’ve moved here sump pump is running this time of year
  12. I’ll be working in Plymouth county, what’s Weymouth, the next town over?
  13. Thanks. It’s a foot in the door with the state anyway.
  14. I’m going to be working with the state reclamation board. Mosquito control project.
  15. I might as well just come out with it. I’m taking a state job. I’m stunned they have a waiting period. It creates such a hassle for anyone making the move to them
  16. Right…. The costs are stupid… it’s so bad. I don’t have that kind of money laying around to do Cobra. My options are to just go without for 2 months and get cobra if something happens, or get mass health
  17. It’s 25% 75% and I am paying $330 every other week
  18. It’s going to be like 1200 every other week… which is absurd. I think mass has their own thing. Mass health connector I believe
  19. Thanks… seems like a screwy way to operate… 60 day waiting period that is… I wasn’t happy to hear that
  20. So I could basically wait all the way until the new insurance kicks in? And if nothing happens in those 60 days I just don’t take the cobra and get on my new insurance? Seems reasonable… and if I have heart surgery I can still enroll in cobra after that?
