I believe one has died and another is still hospitalized. I don’t know the exact figure, but my understanding is that if you narrow it down to just the impacted group (women 18-48), the prevalence is of course much higher although still very rare. Sucks all around though.

Disappointed the weather channel doesn’t have anyone reporting from areas getting pounded now, but I guess that’s typical weather channel. Hope Tom Skilling gets on at 9 and shows us the goods.

It's my understanding the record snow pack for Chicago is 29" after the '79 blizzard. Is that in jeopardy this week?

This little LE band is efficient. Whoever gets stuck under it is going to be buried (as advertised). Can see it’s progress well on the traffic maps.

Right in the bullseye on that one. However I’m fully preparing myself for a only few bands sweeping through while any main show sets up just to the east. Hopefully wrong but it’s hard to be excited when a few miles in any direction can make a break you on snow totals.

All snow here. Coming down hard. Car thermostat went from 36 to 32 in the 15-20min since the snow started. Can see it won’t take long to stick on paved surfaces.

I haven’t seen it mentioned, and I’m not as savvy as the rest here, but is the b-word in the cards for this setup with these winds?
