  1. Very happy that we made it through our relay carnival with no storms and no rain. Even happier that all of our kids had a blast.
  2. Ugh indeed. I REALLY hope we aren't in a long waiting game tonight. Fortunately our relays tonight are at a pool that's only ~10 minutes from our house (and we have a parking pass for the pool's lot). If there is an extended weather delay, we may just run home to wait it out and rush back when the meet resumes.
  3. We need the rain, but hoping for a bust on this evening's storms so that NVSL relay carnival is unaffected. The kids love this event and it would be unfortunate to have to sit out a long storm delay or to have to reschedule for tomorrow (which would cause huge availability issues for our team . . . and presumably others too).
  4. 89 for the high here as well.
  5. I read “profound effects on life” to mean something much broader than just agriculture. There may or may not be a profound effect on agriculture. There will not be any profound effect on life unless the dry spell continues for significantly longer (which it won’t.) Low of 60 here this morning.
  6. Not really given this sentence from the link: "Storage at major water supply reservoirs throughout Virginia remain within normal ranges at this time." 86/71 so far here today. But likely to shed a few more degrees before midnight.
  7. High of 94 here so far today Maxed out at 97 yesterday (likely helped by ~2 hours of cloud cover from 1:30-3:30 which likely had some impact. Low of 79 overnight.
  8. 68 for the low this morning in Great Falls. Same as the last few nights (68-67-68). 83 at 11am. 1 degree warmer than yesterday at this time. IAD is running 3 degrees above yesterday at 11 (85 vs. 82).
  9. 90/67 in Great Falls today. 76 at 10:45pm.
  10. 67 this morning in Great Falls. Yesterday was 89/68. Hot but not yet unbearable.
  11. 89 for the high so far in GF. Hot in the sun but not too bad in the shade. End of week will be a different story.
  12. Our team confirmed an 8:30 start for our meet om Saturday. Not ideal given that we are away and have a 35-minute drive to the other pool. But also understand why NVSL wants to try to beat the worst of the heat.
  13. First B meet for us too . . . fortunately at home. Weather on Saturday was spectacular for time trials. Hoping for a repeat this evening!
  14. 49.8 this morning in Great Falls. Just snuck in under 50.
  15. We have a whole summer of storms ahead. No reason to root for severe on Memorial Day when so many of us have plans to be outside. I’m hoping for dry, peaceful, and maybe even a few peeks of sun.
  16. Impressive (at least for our area) hail storm early this morning in Grest Falls. Even got to break out the snow shovel to clear off our deck so that it would dry before family came over for Mother’s Day.
  17. 35.8 with light frost in GF.
  18. Finally made it outside and measured 1.3” in Great Falls. Presumably got a little bit more prior to melting:compaction.
  19. Sarcasm aside, transition here started at ~37.5 degrees.
  20. Flip started a few minutes ago in Great Falls. 37.4 degrees.
  21. Ended the day at 75.2/51.6. 40.3 overnight.
  22. 75.2/52.5 spilt so far in Great Falls, but we’ll likely shed another degree or two before midnight.
