    Based on what I see from some of the radar obs, surface truth, and mesoanalysis, this one could actually give Some GFS totals once the banding gets going.

    Can confirm pouring snow in Carroll Valley, definitely qualifies as S+. Visibility somewhere between 1/4 and 1/8th, closer to 1/8th.

    It’s coming down hard near Carroll Valley now, borderline S+ driving up from Emmittsburg.

    Yeah I’m right off Jacks Mountain. I can’t imagine it’s pleasant to be honest… will be the first shovel-able we hope. But hoping the location will benefit us like it did for them last year (the storm where they got 17 and in Westminster I got 7)

    Nothing like a battle down the very end between our models. I don’t hate the radar to our SW. Hoping to get the Carroll Valley/South Mountain enhancement going on this one, squeeze out optimal snow growth too.

    Ahh, that looks good. Wish Liberty didn't get bought by Vail and have obscene COVID rules, their bar wouldn't be bad. Though the mountain opens 9am tomorrow again lol.

    Just not a huge fan of how they do their forecast maps. I like reading their discussions, I usually just skip over the map.

    Had a little success with the small storms and starting observation threads over the years so why not give it a shot. Randy might delete but I’m hearing this one till the very end. Change the title if you’d like. As for a weather observation and road observation, 36/15 currently in Westminster and 35/16 at the house. Roads brined in Frederick and Carroll counties on my journey this morning. Radar looking juicy to the SW and the latest run of the HRRR improved again a bit. Lettuce pray.

    No one look at the 12z HRRR would be my recommendation.

    I'm in your 4-8 zone on South Mountain in Carroll Valley. There should be some oro enhancement here and I'll maximize ratios on the NW edge provided there isn't a subsidence zone. Some of the recent models like the 3k have the focus area moving NW and limiting a snowhole in places.

    I actually think there will be some good runs to come. GFS and some other guidance has moved that transfer zone and area northwest every run along with the base of the vort at h5.

    If I'm the N/W folks I'd take my chances on this one. Coastal influence on the QPF shield closer to the cities is looking more evident.

    Certainly the N/W folks will take the ICON. .35-.45 precip for the climo favored folks. Would be a nice event if the possible ratios panned out.
