  1. Snowing in Newtonville at about 35* or so. Sticking a little bit to the railing outside my window.
  2. Yeah, can't wait for tonight. Will be sure to go out and enjoy it.
  3. On the Cape this week. Didn't mean too, but we chased the big storm down 24 and onto 495. Had tree debris between Bridgewater and Carver in places and it was a good thing we didn't need to stop at the rest area on 24 as the power was out there. Absolutely pouring down rain and some good wind in places all the way down 495 and across the bridge. Finally got ahead of it just before we got to Falmouth only to have it blow over us at the house we're at. Added an extra hour to the drive, but at least we got here and it didn't blow something onto the highway.
  4. Clouds are still ripping overhead. Not much mixing going on though. Occasional 30mph gust, but nothing too outrageous.
  5. Gusty when the rain came through. Must have missed the big gusts here in Newton.
  6. Lower level clouds were screaming left to right and the higher level ones were moving from lower left to upper right not as quick. So pretty good shear?
  7. Sun is peeking out here too.
  8. Really firing in western MA. Wonder what the gusts are under those little training cells.
  9. That 10-ish story building in the one of the videos was just vaporized...
  10. Yeah, not quite full sun in Newton, MA, but getting shadows off the trees.
  11. Watches upgraded to Warnings for interior SNE. *edit to include more text*
  12. Seems to be. Unless something weird is going on.
  13. That storm on 128 is just missing me to my west...
  14. So, unbeknownst to me, where I parked my car yesterday along a curb can have flooding issues. The interior floor of the passenger side is soaked and there was a puddle under the seat. The windows and doors were closed. Water must have gotten above the frame rails and seeped in through the door seams.
  15. Thunder all afternoon from those training storms south of me.
  16. Yeah, rumbling pretty good here in Newtonville. Just rain and thunder really. No hail and only a little breezy.
  17. This was looking NE from Newtonville at roughly 4:00pm. I looked at my radar app and it appeared there was a little squall of some sort off of Lynn at the time.
  18. (I'd cross-quote to the other thread, but not sure how to.) Cripes... Our bill for two adults and a hungry kindergartner is about $400 a week. Can't imagine how much yours is...
  19. Nothing is more fun than standing in line at Wegmans and having it snowing...
  20. Of all the days for someone to forget to feed the hamsters running the server...
  21. Blizzard of '78 - I was 4, but I have vivid memories of snowbanks taller than me and sliding down all the snow that had blown between our cars and my dad being home from work all week because nothing was moving. 6/1/2011 - Working in Marlborough, MA at the time watching the cell develop and seeing the board light up when the first reports started coming about the tornado in just as I was leaving for the day. Darkest western sky I can remember seeing from any daytime storm so far away. Hurricane Gloria - I think I watched Dick Albert and The Weather Channel non-stop as a young 11 year-old the days leading up to the storm. We had a huge yard with no overhanging trees, so I spent a lot of the storm outside in the wind once we lost power as we were on the dry side of the storm. Jan-Feb 2015 - I am putting this stretch of weather in as I was living in the Cleveland Circle area at this time with our 7 month-old daughter. Watching the snowbanks get higher, and higher, and higher was amazing. Just nowhere to put the snow by the end. That combined with trying to push a BoB jogging stroller around after parking who knows how far from our apartment because of all the semi-abandoned cars buried by the snowbanks. Ice storm 2008 - Living in Maynard right on the Assabet River at the time just on the edge of the accretion. The hillside above where we lived was covered in ice and bending trees, but down where we were, it was OK. Drove to the office in Marlborough to find branches down everywhere and no power. Had no idea until I got home later how close we were to not having power for a week. Honorable mentions: 8/5/2015 hail storm and a fun drive down Beacon St in Brookline coming back from daycare with daughter in the car. 12/14/2007 snow gridlock. I was in school at LSC during the Perfect Storm and April Fools, so I didn't experience them directly, only from afar. Bob doesn't really make my list as for where we lived, it was a rainy, (really) windy day and we didn't even loose power.
