It was maybe 1/2S in Newtonville a few moments ago with roughly 1.5" on cold/grassy surfaces? The treated roads outside my house seem to have barely anything on them.
Great call to delay or have school start normally it seems.
Like they used to back in the day. It had to be a HECS to call off school the day before, and even then it wasn't a guarantee. There are currently a lot of delays around 128, so we'll see if that was the right choice. Sorry to wander off topic a bit... Back to your regularly scheduled Obs thread. 30.2*
Just took the trash out. Feels like a snowstorm on its way, but nothing falling inside 128 just yet.
I don't envy the supers who haven't decided on school tomorrow around and including Boston.
As an aside, an interesting mix so far of school delays vs. cancelations per WCVB. (Framingham, Randolph, Maynard closed, Norwood, Millis, Natick, Braintree delay etc.)
Wonder if those delays become closed should the 18z trends continue to 0z?
Just went to get a couple things at the the local Star Market and all the refrigerated shelves were either empty or roped off with signs that said "scan and destroy".
Was informed by an employee it was so cold last night, the Freon or whatever runs the coolers froze last night. Not only did it happen there, but he mentioned it also happened at the Stars in Auburndale and the Pru Center!
Bah... My outdoor Taylor gave up at some point in the last hour. Wundermap has -7 to -8* around me at the moment. Definitely the coldest I've seen while living here. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
It was 31* in Newtonville a little before 6:00, the front blew through around 6:20 with a brief squall. It was 23.9* on my Taylor at 7:30 when I left for work. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
