Skies seem to be brightening a bit in Newtonville between the batch moving off-shore and the next round coming ashore in SE CT?
Also, unless the radar fills in soon, file below under you know this would happen? Rain shield seems spotty at best in Central NH currently.
NASCAR canceled today's race in Loudon already and they almost never do that this early.
Now watch the backside of the line will blow through by 2:30-3:00 and it not rain up there the rest of the day.
Totally.
We're in New York today and it's an amazing forecast bust.
We have our rain coats, boots, and umbrellas with us and dressed for a 63* rainy day...
So far, *knock on wood*, it's mostly been a cloudy, 68* afternoon with no rain on radar anywhere...
Snizzle with occasional flakes mixed in much of the afternoon here in Newtonville. The little coating we had after the burst of snow right at the changeover is long gone. 36.8* Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
Now it's barely doing anything and it's really brightening up... Temp is up too. Now it's 37.3 from 35 during the heavy snow. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
Just drove from work in Needham and by the time I got home in Newtonville, grassy surfaces were covered and roads were getting slushy. Might have a commuting disaster later... Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
It was maybe 1/2S in Newtonville a few moments ago with roughly 1.5" on cold/grassy surfaces? The treated roads outside my house seem to have barely anything on them.
Great call to delay or have school start normally it seems.
Like they used to back in the day. It had to be a HECS to call off school the day before, and even then it wasn't a guarantee. There are currently a lot of delays around 128, so we'll see if that was the right choice. Sorry to wander off topic a bit... Back to your regularly scheduled Obs thread. Just took the trash out. Feels like a snowstorm on its way, but nothing falling inside 128 just yet.
I don't envy the supers who haven't decided on school tomorrow around and including Boston.
As an aside, an interesting mix so far of school delays vs. cancelations per WCVB. (Framingham, Randolph, Maynard closed, Norwood, Millis, Natick, Braintree delay etc.)
Wonder if those delays become closed should the 18z trends continue to 0z?
