  1. Yeah, despite calls for days of snow I'm thinking half a day of snow here but it should be a productive half day of snow.
  2. There are not many folks I would trade locations with for SWFE systems. I rarely jackpot but I'm always late to the pingers.
  3. Nobody should ever ignore potential speed of the mid-level warming in these events. The big question for some of the CT peeps is it a pack building sleet fest or full on 6+ hour ice storm?
  4. Pickles favorite Burlington-WRF model has a lot of Freezing Rain for CT. Even several hours into Hartford.
  5. Well, downstream if I'm watching the radar and the coast is getting Inv snow while skies are clearing here. ; )
  6. There will be weenie hand wringing late into the night watching the downstream radar.
  7. Some will be disappointed that they don't stay all snow tomorrow.
  8. I would certainly keep one eye on the mesos tonight and if they ramp up the speed and extent of the mid-level warming as we get closer. Not hard to envision sleet getting to the Pike or beyond before retreating back. Parts of CT definitely in the FZRA crosshairs.
  9. I obviously don’t have any specific numbers but it seems to me that probably 75%(?) of these setups are generally congrats Rt 2 corridor from me to Ray and obviously wiggle room N and S of that line.
  10. Those squalls are actually looking pretty impressive but usual hit or miss caveats apply.
  11. As I said earlier, if you are encasing snow covered branches with ice it could lead to problems when the wind kicks in.
  12. Good way to freeze the snow to the branches for the winds that will follow Wednesday.
  13. WRF models are fairly aggressive bringing sleet to the Pike.
  14. I walked home from Prudential Center to Inman Square in Cambridge in just under an hour where as it took my neighbor 3+ hours to do the same commute in a vehicle. I literally walked past three buses on the route I would normally take.
  15. Yup, Greenfield is usually good for a half dozen of those a year.
  16. Lol, not even close. It is a little concerning to see all of Canada torched but let’s see how it plays out. Edit: still plenty of polar air lurking.
  17. Mid-levels at your Lat are still going to torch at some point unless we get even more S ticks tomorrow.
  18. Gives staying power to the pack. You are getting Thump -> Pingfest -> Glaze. Enjoy, beats rain.
  19. General 3-5" N of Pike is the safe call right now.
  20. This is why you see the term mid-level magic used so often. I have not looked at H7 track tonight but I think a couple of tics N of that in latitude is usually good.
  21. I think Euro ticks N again at 0z. I’m not buying the H press being that robust.
