If the pattern breaks the right (wrong?) way, we could be setting ourselves up for some epic river flooding in a few weeks.
Get a cold, high QPF snow/rainer then freeze followed by a warm, high QPF rainer a week later and the floodgates will open.
It must be killing folks at Berkshire East not to be open today. Their sister Mt Catamount is running at half capacity due to power outages on the NY side.
I’m going C-/D with 42”
It’s all relative to what your climo is.
I also factor in how cold it was, pond ice, pack retention etc. getting a big dog also would factor into my grade and we did not achieve that at my location for this storm.?
There must be some heartbroken weenies in Saugerties!
I will say this, as disappointed as I was not to do better, it’s nice not dealing with a bunch of snow in my yard or at work today.
Going to take a drive into the hills later this morning and hopefully get sone good photos. The totals around me are astounding. Lots of 25-30” reports within 5-10 miles of Greenfield.
Berkshire East still has no power. : (
East flow often screws us here but not always. It was painful watching downtown Greenfield, at low elevation get 2-3' more than me but I'm sure it was the big hills immediately to my N and W that did the downslope damage. Give me SWFE's please. lol
Not sure what positive depth change for here was but I think I would have done a little better than 5" if not for some weird terrain anomaly's around here.
