  1. Both houses will be fine. The roads leading to the VT domicile might be compromised though.
  2. Both of those scenarios will have rivers running strong here. Herps is a lot of water draining south over saturated soil.
  3. Good luck man! I live in a house safe from rapid water rise but the potential for heartache from water exists everywhere in WNE. The rivers around here (Deerfield R, Green R, Cold R) are very susceptible to heavy rains in S VT but fortunately it looks like that bullet is dodged. Our town swimming area, is a dammed section on the Green River and it has already been closed 8 days since June due to high/rapid water.
  4. Jeezuz, GFS is just a parade of humidity. Mold and fungus FTW, pleasant summer weather is not in the forecast for WNE.
  5. Depends on how much of a good ol' boy network the town is tied into. I've seen shit go sour for folks in some of the hill towns around here because they were "outsiders".
  6. NW CT looks to have heavier showers developing again. SW NH getting a reprieve for now.
  7. Flash flood warnings up in the Keene area. Rt 10 that runs from Northfield MA into NH is already impassable in Winchester NH.
  8. The radar is basically stationary. Some of those towns along Route 44 and Route 7 in Connecticut are going to get washed out.
  9. I’m a little concerned about Vermont. The rivers and streams are already running high there with saturated ground.
  10. It hasn’t been a lot of rain here but we’ve had at least a brief shower every day. Fungus and mold everywhere.
  11. What good is summer warmth when it rains every day? Brutal.
  12. Oh good, My neighbors are celebrating the 8th of July with fireworks..
  13. The jackpot for Irene was SW VT to S Central VT and E ‘Dacks. Berkshire and Franklin County‘s in Massachusetts got hit pretty good with total QPF but not as bad as the aforementioned areas.
  14. Nope, just couldn’t get through that sunny summer day without getting a shower, even if it was just 30 seconds long. Summer 2023 keeps rolling in Western Massachusetts.
  15. Nice afternoon in Brattleboro. Happy Fourth of July everybody!
  16. The Old Silver tidal marsh used to connect to the one at New Silver (the Wild Harbor River). I remember going on an adventure with friends and canoeing the length of it when I was about 12 or 13. The 1980s “rape the cape” development ruined part of that feature.
  17. Is Woodneck the one near Quissett harbor and the “knob”? Black Beach is frickin’ amazing but only accessible by boat. It’s got a saltwater river that you can float down or up with the tide.
  18. Have you guys gone to the Lobster Trap on Shore Rd in Bourne? Good eats, on the water but go early, they jam. Having a drink on the lawn at the Chart Room is fun too.
  19. I grew up swimming and sailing on Buzzards Bay. By the end of August it can be like bathwater. The bay heats up more efficiently and holds the heat longer. As a kid I remember people saying there’s a side branch of gulf stream water that flows into the bay and helps it heat up but I don’t know if that is true or not. I will say this, the beaches in North Falmouth and Cataumet are amazing in September. There is nobody there and the water temperature is still in the 70s.
  20. Yeah, Chappy and South Cape Beach SP in Mashpee are great. We go to Silver beach because it's close to where my folks live.
  21. Buzzards Bay is often a different reality than the general forecast.
