  1. 1-1.5" in NW MA tonight with some flash flooding. Nothing outrageous but rivers will be running high again tomorrow. I imagine CT River will remain at minor flood stage through tomorrow night.
  2. Wind was minimal here but impressive light show and very heavy rain. 1.25"
  3. Big line of cells coming. Sky to my west is black, continues thunder and lightning in the distance.
  4. Vernon Dam. That’s an impressive structure. You can start canoe trips there and go all the way to Turners Falls. It’s a beautiful two day trip.
  5. Crazy. Water can be terrifying, I can’t even imagine it inundating your house. Furniture ruined, carpets ruined, cars, furnaces, septic systems all ruined. Sheet rock and plaster water logged and becoming a mold hazard. I wouldn’t be buying a used car from anywhere in Vermont anytime soon…
  6. The difference is, when it’s dry at least you have the option of watering some stuff. When it constantly rains you don’t have the option of “sunning” stuff.
  7. Brutal and all of that stuff, from hundreds of homes, needs to somehow be disposed of properly. My coworkers best friend lives in Waterbury and said everything in his neighborhood smelled like petroleum today.
  8. Did I mention it rains every day here? My tomato plants are getting stem rot.
  9. SundayMonday? The ground may never get a chance to dry out this summer…
  10. Didn’t even have chance of rain in the forecast today yet it is raining. We have had precipitation 10 out of the past 12 days.
  11. It is also a huge environmental disaster. There will be thousands of tons of waste and refuse that needs to be dealt with plus all of the toxins that were washed into the rivers and waterways and deposited elsewhere.
  12. I filmed this around noon time. Still wasn’t quite at peak flow. Watch until the end and you’ll see the power of the water coming through the open floodgates.
  13. On your way back park at the discovery center in Turners Falls and walk down to see the floodgates on the Dam. Pretty spectacular.
  14. Connecticut River below the Turners Falls Dam.
  15. At least we got three or four good days in!
  16. Terrible! Such a nice little city, I haven’t been there in years but have many fond memories.
  17. That is going to affect the Deerfield and Green River's down here. I may go to work late tomorrow to (safely) chase some high water photos.
  18. Oh no. Rt 2 is notorious for accidents. I am so aware when driving that road.
  19. crazy! I almost drove out there but didn’t think they needed any more traffic with that situation.
  20. Should be fine. They will throw in a little backfill and fix it up tomorrow.
  21. Some of those roads are going to take weeks to repair and many of them are main thoroughfares.
  22. Wow, over 2 inches in Greenfield. Most of that fell from 6AM to 10 AM
  23. I think the situation in Vermont is going to become dire. We’re looking at several more inches of rain being dumped on areas that are already experiencing flash flooding.
