  1. Ugh, congrats up north. Stein dug in like a tick down here.
  2. Congrats on any rain. Barely a drop in New Haven.
  3. Unrelenting dryness. Thinking of restyling myself “Haboob in Hamden” if it gets much dustier.
  4. I’ll be gone til November, tell my girl yo I’ll be gone til November.
  5. If I had the power, I would've banned him last winter when he was whining about his 30" pack.
  6. Oh yeah. I was obsessed with the run-up to that storm as well, especially since the '12 winter and that winter to that date had been abysmal. I just ambled around Cambridge all night watching the drifts pile up and cars gradually disappear. Great storm in Boston, but I'll always be sad I wasn't home in Hamden for it.
  7. Jan ‘11 blizzard for me. I think I lost about a week of sleep prior to Sandy though.
  8. Storm just missing me north. Maybe a mile or two out of the money.
  9. This outside looking in stuff is brutal.
  10. I would also add that thanks to the Internet you can now find communities of people who will reinforce any point of view, however stupid. Believe the world is flat? There's a vociferous community online who will feed you (bad) data in support of your view. Think AMC is going to a million? There's a community for that. Think Tupac is alive? Think Atlantic ACE will hit 300? There's a community. It's a vehicle for people to create their own subjective "truth." You can bury yourself in your own curated echo chamber.
  11. I think there are also so many sources of spurious information out there that many people have lost the ability to separate the good from the bad. Critical thinking skills seem to be in serious decline.
  12. Gotta draw from the New Haven data, as I don't track it myself. June was 2.3, July was 0.9, August is 0.9 to date. I'm confident I'm running behind New Haven though. There have been a few measurable events downtown that missed my hood this month. It's starting to remind me of 2016 in Boston around here.
  13. It feels like it hasn't really rained here since June. A couple sprinkles barely caked the dust, but that's pretty much it. I really feel for the local orchards/farms.
  14. Not a drop. Zero point zero. Might as well join the effing Peace Corps.
  15. Not a damn drop. The famine stones will be uncovered soon at this rate.
  16. If I Stein today, I may lose my sh!t.
  17. Speaking of damage, check out the derecho in Italy the other day. Wow.
  18. Used to fish off the bridge that leads to it when I was a kid. It's a great area.
