  1. I've seen them in my house in December. But then I live in the malarial swamps of southern CT, so not all that surprising.
  2. Yes, makes them more palatable. Those things are all gristle.
  3. Yeah, I'd probably ask for seconds of haggis before tucking into that.
  4. I’m very skeptical we’ve seen the bottom. Anything is possible, but if QT stays on autopilot, I have a hard time seeing sustained gains. We haven’t had a real blowout in credit spreads yet or a crescendo of equity selling. Very orderly year. This feels a bit like 2000-2002 so far. Protracted bear with a lot of big countertrend rallies and false starts. Markets also tend to bottom after the Fed goes into an easing cycle, not while they’re still hiking. I don’t think they’re going to back down from talking tough on inflation either. Powell doesn’t want to be Burns reincarnated. I’d also add that crushing economic activity through hikes and a strong dollar suppresses oil demand and may be a sneaky way for our government to undermine Russia’s ability to fund its war.
  5. Amazingly, they’re still putting out great tunes two decades later.
  6. Really on the receiving end of the ol' cosmic dil today. Awful weather.
  7. Nice to see there's a Dispatch fan here! The lead vocalist, Chad, is a cousin of mine. My bro and I went to their "final" concert at the Hatch back in '04. Wild scene with like 100k plus people there.
  8. Bon voyage PR at the end of the GFS today.
  9. Yep, spectacular today. Perfect jogging this morning with the dew and general autumnal splendor. Enjoy, Steve!
  10. Cute little homebrew fuji into Maine too.
  11. The maples have been pretty spectacular this season. Didn’t expect such good color with all the Stein over the summer.
  12. Or capture some late season home brew.
  13. Ridiculous close lightning strikes. Pouring and driving wind. Best storm in a long time.
  14. I would be melting so hard if this was January and the radar was c*teasing me like this.
  15. Man, look at the wind shear off the tops of those waves. Insane.
  16. Mercifully, it looks like my relatives in Sarasota dodged a bullet. Strong tropical storm conditions there all day, but no surge or really damaging wind. What a relief!
  17. Damn it. Last thing I wanted to see waking up this morning.
  18. Yeah, it's a nice spot. My grandmother and great uncle evacuated Siesta Key this morning. I'm hoping this keeps edging south. Would much rather have the wind blowing off the land than piling water up. I still think their homes are probably not going to weather this well.
  19. Deeply concerning. Great structure and jet fuel water ahead.
  20. Ugh. My grandmother's condo is on the 5th floor facing the beach. Wind is her big concern. My great uncle's house is just off the beach at about 3-4 feet above sea level. Water will be his problem. They've evacuated inland, but this will be a tough hit for them. Both are north of 90 and have major health problems.
  21. F***, a lot of these runs will make my grandmother and great uncle homeless. F***.
  22. My great uncle is in the same situation. He's at about 4-5 ft about sea level just off the beach in Siesta Key. He's packing up his important documents and heading inland. If the current surge forecast verifies, his house is gonzo. A very sad situation.
  23. Ugh, my great uncle lives just off the beach in Siesta Key, probably just above sea level. My grandmother is just down the beach. GFS is a bad look for them. Hope this thing stays out at sea.
