  1. ..but you are not a meteorologist with an audience to build on
  2. It is near impossible to make a counter argument to the bolded.
  3. Any meteorologist with a website, Facebook page, or twitter handle realizes many weather enthusiasts are fans of winter weather. In order to generate "traffic" it is best to target that audience. .."East is in for a brutal winter"....that will drive the weather enthusiasts and the non weather enthusiasts to the site......as opposed to "East is in store for a very mild winter"... Right now if you went to the SNE subforum and you posted a forecast calling for a mild and dry winter....well your forecast would be "poo pooed"...BUT if you posted something like " I think New England is in store for a severe winter".....your post would receive numerous positive comments and likes..
  4. As the old saying goes" People hear want they want to hear"
  5. Similar to "hot takes" for sports websites..
  6. coming out with a forecast that calls for a warm and dry winter doesn't generate website hits and subscriptions...
  7. true but that is the preliminary forecast...real forecast comes out soon
  8. The usual deniers will just "poo poo" that possibility.....and it is well within the realm of possibility
  9. If he is a Chicago Bear he likely dropped the pumpkins..
  10. So after all of the years of Brady playing in Foxborough your wife decides she now wants to see Tom Brady play....men everywhere will understand!!
  11. Are you there for the Rays postseason elimination parade???
  12. It's just about the time of the year when you begin to receive the panic posts .... "Do you see a change to a colder and snowier pattern" "Hey when is it going to change?" "Why are you downplaying the blizzard at 384 hours?" "Hey can't you at least admit the snower on the euro looks promising?" "Another Christmas spent swimming in the pool" "Many here think a pattern change is imminent, why do you always have to be a downer?" the 5th season in SNE is Panic Season!!....just about time for those panic posts to begin rolling in..
  13. Anyone who ever calls for October to be snowy doesn't know or understands the climate of SNE....or for that matter most of the US
  14. The term "Indian Summer" dates back to the late 1700's but no one knows for certain how the term came to be. It is generally considered to be a period of warm weather after the first frost. As we both know on- air mets would often use the term Indian summer but that is no longer the case.
  15. I love the house being cool. Feels great after the heat and humidity of summer.
  16. Just think back to the tree damage from the storm in March 2018.
  17. I'm not saying Sandy wasn't a very impactful storm BUT I still believe a CAT 3 or higher in SNE would cause even worse devastation. The original post was about some individuals in the SNE subforum who want/wish for a Cat 3 or higher to hit SNE.
  18. Sandy wasn't a Cat 3 or higher hurricane. ....the damage would be far more extensive.
