  1. "warm season things" and the months of March and April do not go all that well together. And by warm season things do you mean leaving your basement for 10 minutes???
  2. Another thing that was ignored was the storm tracks during the fall.
  3. I do not think Larry Cosgrove was ever onboard with the idea of a cold and snowy winter.
  4. I think many of them ignored the overall warmth of the oceans and the record warmth across much of the Northern Hemisphere. And let's face it a forecast for a cold and snowy winter is click bait on some level.
  5. Actually there hasn't been much to clean up. Usually I have to clean up a lot of twigs/branches during the winter but not this winter. I only have 1/2 of a lawn bag so far. In a typical winter I usually fill 4-5 bags with branches and twigs. The lawn looks more like it does during later March and/or early April.
  6. Yes there was. At the time it was referred to as the worst storm since 1888.
  7. For the most part it has had an El Nino look to it for quite some time. JB has made the point that the waters have never returned to normal following the Super El Nino of 15-16.
  8. no hype, no false hopes, just daily drivel.....
  9. I agree. There might not have been much in the way of snow but it still felt like winter. Winters have changed in SNE and for much of the east coast.
  10. A couple of friends tried it and they weren't impressed with the product. Regular sod is better.
  11. Perhaps planting a tree(s) in that area to provide shade.
  12. And it is likely that it doesn't stop the infestation because many if not all insects have become resistant to pesticides. And chinch bugs fall into that category. The overuse of pesticides and other lawn care products have made it increasingly difficult to control insects. When I was a kid, and playing baseball and football ,the fields were all in pretty good shape. No one used lawn care products. The lawn care industry has made billions by convincing home owners that they need the perfect lawn. Do you honestly think the lawn care companies are producing top of the line products?? The answer is no they are not. They are producing products that barely work for the most part because they want home owners to continue to purchase their products in the hope that the lawn will look better. It's all one giant con game.
  13. What is more important to you, your lawn or your health? I would never use products like sevin. There is no upside at all. Why not dig out the area and put fresh top soil down and then reseed?
  14. So if Dorian does take a turn to the north, and I post "Looks like Dorian is going to hit the SC coast" ...you assume I want to see a cat 3/4 hit SC???
  15. That is a huge leap to make from still moving west to someone wanting a direct hit on Florida.
  16. Hey did you find that post on your profile????? Ya know the one you said a mod deleted. Easily done!
  17. So you make the jump from "Dorian seems to be still heading west" to people hoping for a direct hit on FL?????
  18. So what are people suppose to discuss?? Even Mets on here and other online sites/TV have discussed Dorians wobbles and potential tracks. And some have speculated on Dorian hitting FL. Is that wishcasting? I have not read a post that stated "I want to see A full fledged CAT 5 Dorian hit Florida"
  19. So expressing an opinion/thought is "wish casting"????
  20. There is a significant difference between discussing different scenarios and wishing for a " 200 MPH Dorian" to hit FL
