  1. Check YouTube for videos. It's a great source of info on how to do things around the home.
  2. Not only do the goalposts move they get wider by the day.
  3. I'd be shocked if the ocean temps came anywhere close to verifying.
  4. Announced attendance of 1543.....I assume everyone must of been on the concourse. At least that is what the Pistons claim every time they announce an attendance total that isn't remotely close to the actual attendance.
  5. A lot depends on how healthy the tree was prior to the attack. And if it can heal. Clearly there are many holes in the tree. Old timers would attempt to save such a tree by spraying it with a mix of water and mild anti bacterial soap. I've seen some use deer repellent in an attempt to ward off woodpeckers. And in some cases I've seen trees be wrapped with burlap in an attempt to lessen further damage and to allow the tree time to heal.
  6. Usually carbon black is used for black mulch and iron oxide for red mulch.
  7. A fungicide may help. If you decide to use a fungicide use it on a "test" area first.
  8. Last October I mentioned that it was dicey hydroseeding at that time of year. Friends who have had their lawns hydroseeded in late September or October had poor results. Try finding a grass seed by the name of perennial pacemaker. You will probably have to go to a good lawn and garden center. The seeds germinate quickly. And it's a good grass for both sun and shady areas. And it does well in area that are difficult to grow grass in.
  9. People saturate their lawns with chemicals and that leads to the lawn becoming dependent on the chemicals. And in general those chemicals aren't very safe. Best thing to do is to use organic fertilizer, leave the lawn at 3 inches or more after a mow and water deeply but infrequently. Of course mother nature may have her own thoughts on the water schedule.
  10. I find it interesting that the Australian Bureau of Meteorology has moved the El Nino watch to an alert. According to what I read that means they think there is a 70% chance of an El Nino developing in 2019.
  11. And some in the SNE subforum will deny the existence of an El Nino this winter.
  12. Thanks for all the great information! Do you have any early thoughts on the upcoming summer?
