  1. I do not think it has anything to do with forecasts and/or the models. The overall weather pattern has produced well above normal warmth for several months. And as things stand right now the pattern looks to continue into October.
  2. Enjoy the "heat" and high dews this coming winter...…...
  3. I wish you and your wife all the best in your new home.
  4. I live in Methuen. I'd rather be honest with someone. I hope he and his wife enjoys their new home.
  5. How much more snow do you actually think falls in Methuen as oppose to Wilmington??? Honestly I do not think it is all that much especially on the east side of Methuen. The west side of Methuen near Pelham/Dracut probably receives more snowfall than Wilmington. There is a lengthy list of issues in Methuen that would require the yearly snowfall totals for the Tug Hill area to even begin to mitigate the issues.
  6. As Ray even said, it's a step down from Wilmington lol And he's right.
  7. Nearly everyone I know who lives in Methuen is moving to another city/town or thinking of it. And that includes me. The city is a political circus like no other. And there is talk of a prop 21/2 override which will lead to even higher property evaluation and taxes,
  8. A good decision on your part. And I fully understand why you and your wife wanted to leave. The taxes will go up if the elected clowns in Methuen get their way with the Prop 21/2 override.
  9. Oh that must of been fun! lol It will be interesting to see if a touchdown occurred in that area.
  10. You're welcome. Methuen has allowed too many homes to be built. The schools are bursting at the seams because they are so overcrowded. And the traffic in the area has become very much like the traffic in the Boston area. Each afternoon and morning Rte 93 and Rte 495 are choked with traffic for hours. How are the home prices in your area?
  11. Dan, Congrats on your move. I'm wishing you and your family all the best in your new home. You picked a good time to leave Methuen. The city is being hit by one scandal after another. And I'm sure there are additional scandals in the pipeline.
  12. Personally I do not care if anyone reads any of my posts. You are the one who constantly seeks and needs attention!
  13. well then you must consider yourself to be no one......lol I find it amazing that from the comfort of your recliner(while you gaze out the window looking at gypsy moths) in the living room...yes the room with the window AC ….that you are able to determine that only stressed trees are showing color....remarkable indeed. Or are you gathering that info from twitter?...perhaps from the same people who were mentioning a redux of 1816 prior to the summers of 2017 and 2018?????
  14. Even in So. NH and northern Mass there are plenty of trees showing signs of color change. For example, I was in Andover yesterday and I had to take a different exit off of RTE 93 and most of the trees along the exit ramp had some evidence of the leaves changing color.
  15. I'm not sure if there is any connection or not, but in Lawrence on RTE 114 there is a major construction project that has been ongoing for several months at the site of the former Showcase Cinema. The site is right in the area. I live in Methuen and at this time(1:20 AM) it is the 1st time in several hours that I cannot hear siren noise coming from Lawrence, North Andover and Andover. Several friends of mine who live in Lawrence had a difficult time evacuating the city last evening due to all the road closures in Lawrence. Also the Mthuen olice Dept made a reverse 911 call to inform the residents of Methuen that their wasn't any risk in Methuen.
  16. The storms we had this past March had a greater impact on the Merrimack Valley area of MA than what Bob did. Even the Halloween storm last year was worse than Bob. As we both know,Sandy wasn't a hurricane but it still packed a wallop.
  17. A friend of mine has family who live in the mandatory evacuation area in VA. According my friend his family thinks the order to evacuate was issued too early. And they have also told him that some in their area will not take the next mandatory evacuation orders all that seriously.
  18. Tip. When someone is fearful they do not think right for the most part. And that makes the decision making process all that more difficult. Yes people should put their safety and the safety of their loved ones first BUT they are also usually very concerned about their personal belongings. The great unknown is not knowing what they are going to return to and that not only includes their personal belongings but also their lifestyle and livelihood. The majority of us here have never been in a situation that has required us to make that decision. Who knows how most of us would respond in that situation.
  19. I do not think it's so much about stupidity as people wanting to look out for what they have. And in many cases it's about people hoping for the best. I think for many people it is a difficult position to be in. After all they are leaving behind essentially everything they have worked their entire lives for. And you are speaking with someone(her) who probably has a lot of fear about the entire situation. It's always easier to be outside of the situation than being directly in the situation.
