Great Snow 1717

I have recorded some significant snow totals in some winters. Things can be worse. Our area was a jackpot area for the 2/1 storm

I also live on the east side of Methuen. West Methuen especially towards Dracut and Pelham is better for snow and pack retention. I have lived in the area my entire life. I have noticed that the route 213 exit off of 93 is often a transition zone. There have been many times when I have have seen it snowing/mix at that merge only to have the snow or mix becomes more of a rain/mix the further I drove down 213 east. Salem even in the area of the mall is better than the east side of Methuen. I was in Londonderry, Sandown and Pelham on Saturday to look at homes and it was clear that they had received less snow from the Feb 1 storm than Methuen but those areas are better for the marginal events and pack retention. In our area there are going to be tradeoffs.

I assume you live on the east side of methuen?

Ray you should leave work now if you ever want to see Methuen again jk .........I have not even bothered measuring. I live on the a side street and the road is just wet. The car only has a partial coating. The radar is more "impressive" than the actual snowfall.

Nearly half of December and all of January was virtually snowless.........

I am not complaining but the grinch storm and the 5 weeks of virtually no snow is going to take down my final grade for the winter.

we must be closing in on 150 inches so far..days and days has turned into months and months.......

I was very surprised at the upgrade to a WSW.....The upgrade caused many schools to cancel.

Agree, some never learn by looking at model forecasts 5-7 days out from a possible event and thinking it is a certainty that the model forecasts will verify.

Very light snow in methuen....has the look of a bustorama so far.

That measurement was about 45 minutes ago so we will likely have a similar total. Adds to a nice pack!

...it's been going on since people began to have the ability to view the models online and the dawn of the weather forum(s).......but yes some people do let the models control their mood(s)
