  1. As others have mentioned, great start to the day! 54.7/53.3 here
  2. Agree with both. I'd say 60-100 years ago storms were UNDER reported do to lack of observations. Things like Bill were just 'blows' or noreasters or such.
  3. What a great start to the day! Dew's back in the 50's and temp right at 60 currently. Have most of the doors/windows open to let the air circulate.
  4. That was a close guesstimate last night, 1.51 in gauge this am, that is enough for a new daily rainfall record for me, beating 1995's 1.39 inches. A bit cooler this morning with a bit of mist/light drizzle falling and 64.9 degrees.
  5. Home and eyeballing the CoCoRaHS looks in the 1.5-1.8 inches range. I was already heading towards 4 inches for the month before today. Saw a few 4-6 inch reports in the Lynchburg area today, just today... mudslide report or two and evacuations of homes/apartments ongoing there.
  6. At work, so no idea how much has fell, but 3 separate downpours about 20-30 minutes each have come thru this afternoon and evening. Still raining, but not at 100 foot visibility levels as earlier lol.
  7. Yes, all is well here, thanks for that. Hope all is going well your way
  8. Another 1.10" in about 40 minutes here.....crazy.
  9. That seems a tad warm for Boston there @Scotty Lightning lol!!
  10. Going on his own timeframe after doing what he loved to do for 30+ years? Win.
  11. About as bad as my Chicago letting Joel Quenneville go few years ago....
  12. So... I've had more rain the first 10 days of this month (2.11) than ALL of last month (1.51).
  13. Yes, actually I have seen 2 (yes 2!) of these in the years while flying into Denver airport, both slightly off to the NE. We landed just like normal too lol. May and June seem to be prime time for them for some reason.
  14. Hearing boomers but nothing water-wise yet....
  15. I'll take the first leap... DCA: 103 NYC: 100 BOS: 101 ORD: 99 BIS: 108 ATL: 99 IAH: 104 DEN: 104 PHX: 117 SEA: 96
  16. just sent significant report in on CoCoRaHS, 0.97 in 18 minutes!!
  17. Had about 2 hours of light rain from 8-10 pm here.
  18. I HATE heat, but that said, a couple weeks of mid 80's and DECENT DP's (NOT 77-80!) are OK for a 'summer'. The 90-96 temps with crazy DP's and sauna like conditions need to stay where they belong, in the deep south. A GREAT summer is 75-82 temps with 50/60's DP's and dropping back into the 55-60 temp range overnight. I'd like cooler but know that is asking a bit much in the MA area.
  19. My numbers for the month of May 2021 Total precip was 1.51 inches vs a normal of 4.11 inches, a -2.60 inches below normal AND now is 2nd driest May on record, with only the parched May 2006's 1.31 inches beating it. There were 13 days with measurable, 6 days with a 'T' and 12 dry days. The wettest day was on the 29th with 0.43 inches falling. There was no snowfall recorded for the month. The averaged high for the month was 72.1 degrees vs a normal of 74.4 degrees, a -2.3 degrees below normal. The warmest temp recorded was 86.8 degrees on the 27th. The averaged low was 48.3 degrees vs a normal of 48.0 degrees, a +0.3 above normal. The coldest temp recorded for the month was 37.1 degrees on the 13th. The overall averaged temp for the month was 60.2 degrees vs a normal of 61.2 degrees, a -1.0 below normal. The highest wind recorded was 66 mph on the 5th in a thunderstorm. The only record set/broke for the month was a 'cool max' set on the last day of the month, the 31st. Overall a very dry and slightly cooler than normal month. Records go back to October 1979.
  20. Son just moved from Breck to Park City UT this past weekend. He got tired of, and I quote, 'the Californication and odor of Colorado now'...
  21. Careful there in that last pic, I see no sunscreen...
  22. NOT from this corner, YUCK!
