  1. Oh, the headache beer! I (when I used to drink) could do anything and mix alcohol's all day, but throw ONE PBR in and I'd have the headache of the century the next morning for hours......
  2. There, fixed that for you!
  3. LOL, I just can't buy a rain shower here in the last month. Yesterday I had 75-90 minutes, yes over an hour of thunder and lightning, then about 15-20 raindrops fell on the deck.... watering yard continues.
  4. Yep, done that a few times myself. Not any worse than say, Mt Evans road in Colorado or any other narrow pass (thinking of you Smugglers Notch) up and over a mountain.
  5. Drum roll please, the numbers for July 2021 my location... Averaged high was 85.3 degrees vs a normal of 84.7 degrees, a +0.6 above average. The warmest temp recorded was 89.7 degrees on the 28th. Averaged low was 61.7 degrees vs a normal of 61.5 degrees, a +0.2 degrees above average. The coolest temp recorded was 54.1 degrees on the 4th. Overall averaged temp was 73.5 degrees vs a normal of 73.1 degrees, a +0.4 above average. Total precip for the month was a measly 1.02 inches, which sets a new record minimum for the month of July, vs a normal of 4.01 inches, a -2.99 below average. There were 10 days with measurable, 2 days with a 'T' and 19 dry days. The greatest rainfall event was on the 2nd with 0.44 (almost half of monthly) falling. The highest wind recorded was 31 mph on the 9th. Only record for month is the dry 1.02" of rainfall, beating previous record of 1.76" from 1998 by a good bit. Overall a very average month temp wise, powerfully dry (especially last 20 days) on the water side. Records date back to October 1979.
  6. You sure that wasn't a rogue spritz or sprinkle from the hose/sprinkler system?
  7. Silly, silly me. I thought 20-25 dbZ over me for an hour or so would bring a bit of rain....nope, it did spot the deck and windshields, about it. I DID get to report a T this morning vs all the 0.00's last 2 weeks. Amazing.
  8. DCA: +0.3 NYC: +0.6 BOS: +1.1 ORD: +1.2 ATL: -0.4 IAD: -0.8 DEN: +1.1 PHX: +0.9 SEA: +0.2
  9. So, I did set a new record for lowest rainfall for July, 1.02". But NOW I have dots appearing on the deck, first moisture from the sky in about 2 weeks! Hopefully it actually rains and it helps the grass, mine is half brown even watering every other day.
  10. Well, that 'chance of storms' went the same direction the last 3 weeks have gone...nada. Still at 1.02 for the month, 0.25 last 19 days and goose eggs last 12. 1.50 since 6/15. Sheesh.
  11. Yep. I'd have a hard time with ATLANTIC coast conference and they take in say OK St and Kansas...
  12. Same here, why I am watering every third day now, trying to keep some grass around. BTW, ALL the storms yesterday managed to miss this area (again), still at 1.02 for the month, 0.44 of that fell on the 2nd. Dry, dry.
  13. Nada here (again) although thunder was heard before I took off to Roanoke around 2 pm. THEY (northern Roanoke) got a whopper of a storm between 6-7 pm, I'd estimate 3-4 inches fell in about 45 minutes, water running high and everywhere! Speaking of lots of rain, saw this little jewel on NWS Blacksburg site-- PRELIMINARY LOCAL STORM REPORT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BLACKSBURG VA 838 PM EDT MON JUL 26 2021 ..TIME... ...EVENT... ...CITY LOCATION... ...LAT.LON... ..DATE... ....MAG.... ..COUNTY LOCATION..ST.. ...SOURCE.... ..REMARKS.. 0700 AM HEAVY RAIN 4 NE WINGINA 37.67N 78.66W 07/25/2021 M11.20 INCH BUCKINGHAM VA COCORAHS A TRAINED COCORAHS OBSERVER OBSERVED AT 24-HOUR TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNT OF 11.20 INCHES. 14. Still sitting at 1.02", MAYBE today or tomorrow will return the rains
  15. Well, the humidity is back in 'nasty' zone...
  16. Sitting at 1.02 " for the month here, my driest July on record is 1.76" from 1998, then 2.33" from 1995 and 2.47" from 1996 (my, I forgot HOW dry the late 90's were!) so I am on pace to at least finish top 5 unless a good soaking comes along last 10 days.
  17. Sounds like when son played travel hockey (Roanoke). It was a 55-60 minute drive TO the practice, which was 3 days a week, then games every weekend alternating between home (an hour away for us) and away. But it WAS travel, teams were in Raleigh, Greensboro, Charlotte, Fayetteville, Richmond and Winston-Salem. The BEST one was the two years ATLANTA (Gwinnett) joined the league!! It basically was minor league hockey minus the pay for the players or the bus lol.
  18. Sending thoughts and prayers your family's way.
  19. 3rd morning in a row starting in the fog, 65.3/64.8
  20. I REALLY do not do well in front of large groups. 4-6 people I can deal, 20,30, 40? forget about it!
