  1. Well, round three is moving thru, up over .25 now and still raining.
  2. Already had two showers blow thru this am, but still under .10 total. Boy is it miserably muggy. Currently 72.2/70.0, feels like a sauna out there.
  3. 0.57 for 7 am CoCoRaHS report, just a touch over an inch since Friday here, BUT places in my and the three surrounding counties have seen 3-5 inches in that time. Soupy/humid last two days, nasty. Currently 66.2/65.8.
  4. Yep, huge differences here. Some of the area got 1/3-1/2 inch (0.34 here), then a stripe from far western Alleghany up into southern Bath county got like 2-3 inches. Pushed Dunlap creek up 2-2.5 feet and Jackson river up a foot or so (and muddy) with rest of creeks and rivers in area barely moving.
  5. And this is why I am happy to be where I am. Currently 57.7/55.9 at 8:30 am. Looking around at temps in the area, 57 at the lake (Moomaw), 57 in Covington, 54 at White Sulphur Springs. Then 68 in Roanoke, 64 in Blacksburg, 66 in Staunton, 72 in C'ville, 77 in Richmond 73 at DCA and IAD. I'll likely warm up to within 5 degrees of the highs east but the cool nights and mornings are glorious.
  6. Sad thing is, I already know July will be late. Going west for two weeks and not back until 8th. Although we have a house/cat sitter staying here, they AREN'T gonna put the numbers together and enter here, I'm just happy they will record each day for me.
  7. Yep, wife was living in Orange County when we met. I got to experience the 'June gloom' a few times.
  8. Well, I let this month's report slip thru the cracks! Could have sworn I stuck this in earlier. My numbers for May 2025. Averaged high was 71.2 degrees vs a normal of 73.6 degrees, -2.4 degrees below average. The warmest day was the 2nd with an 84.0 degree reading. Averaged low was 49.4 degrees vs a normal of 48.6 degrees, a +0.8 degrees above average. Coldest temp recorded was 36.8 degrees on the 10th. Overall averaged temp was 60.3 degrees vs a normal of 61.1 degrees, -0.8 degrees below average. Total precip for the month was 7.99 inches vs a normal of 4.30 inches, a +3.69 inches above average and slides into 2nd wettest May on record, just behind 2009's 8.03 inches. The wettest day was the 13th with 2.68 inches falling. There were 19 days with measurable, 2 days with a 'T' and 10 dry days. Highest wind recorded was 41 mph on the 31st. Several new records, new 'cool maxes' set on the 24th, 27th and 28th. New daily rainfalls set on the 4th, 13th and 14th. Overall, a slightly cooler and wetter month than average. Records date back to October 1979.
  9. UGH. 81.4/60.4 here at 1:40 pm. AC is on.
  10. Another chilly night, low was 40.5 degrees, close to a record but no cigar (38 in 1994). Currently up to 44.2/43.0 at 7:30 am. It was pretty hazy/smoky yesterday afternoon and evening but doesn't appear as bad this am.
  11. 40.2 for the low, currently 40.8/40.0 with clear skies.
  12. 41.0 for the low here this am, currently 67.7/37.9 at 2:30 pm (and high for the day) with hazy overcast (guessing smoke).
  13. Seasonal max DCA: 100 NYC: 99 BOS: 98 ORD: 99 ATL: 101 IAH: 106 DEN: 104 PHX: 118 SEA: 96
  14. DCA: +0.8 NYC: +1.2 BOS: +1.4 ORD: +0.4 ATL: +0.8 IAH: + 0.5 DEN: -0.4 PHX: +0.4 SEA: +0.9
  15. That tight little vortex spinning southward in SD is interesting
  16. Well, Happy Birthday to those having one yesterday or today! lol
  17. Only 0.13 fell here from several different showers, some quite gusty in late afternoon. So, I will fall short of the monthly record of 8.03" with 7.99" it appears. I have twigs, limbs and leaves everywhere this am, it will be a clean-up day.
  18. Just scrapped to the north about 45 minutes ago with that bow running from Staunton to Morgantown right now, although little in precip, did get a nice 41 mph gust and a couple more in mid 30's.
  19. Expanded south and west, now the western 2/3's of the forum in a tornado watch.
  20. First round of showers just pushed through, about 1/2 way there....
  21. Sun finally broke thru the fog here! It feels soupy/humid as all get out, blah. Supposed to storm later. I am 0.17" from setting a new monthly rainfall record.
  22. Currently 57.6/56.0 here. The sun poked thru around 5 pm and we rose above 60 around 6 pm for the first time in 70 hours. Crazy for late May. Sitting at 7.60" thru this morning, looks like a tenth or so fell so far today (I say that as I'm watching the radar off to the SW heading this way, maybe some more later) and closing in on the record of 8.03 for the month back in 2009.
