  1. 64* here now in St Simons Island. So nice to be away from the rain for a change
  2. I love having you here, you always make me laugh
  3. Yep I remember that last year too. If you sneezed while out and about, everyone would look at you and think you have covid. My anxiety was bad last year too and still it to an extent. It def sucks
  4. Im just dreading pollen season as it is making its appearance
  5. 75* for the high today Morning low of 33* What a beautiful day
  6. Yeah at least I doubled what I got last winter. Though it was a chilly late winter/early spring and wet. I really enjoyed today and tomorrow too. I gave up early this year on snow and the arctic outbreak. It just wasnt our year here. It does sting that Arkansas got 17" Texas had snow and sleet all over the damn state and we got barely anything
  7. First time Ive given winter an F no matter where I lived. Temps were the only nice things about winter here. Precip, snow sucked minus the 1.6" here and Rain was plentiful and looks to continue that trend
  8. Wow, it is actually nice outside here. If it isnt going to snow, Ill take low 60s 63/38 currently. Windows open in the house
  9. Picked up .36" rainfall today 5.85" MTD 11.32 YTD
  10. Damn we got a few gusts of wind and some heavy rain thats it. This place sucks for severe
  11. Posted by another poster on the main forum, but this is awesome Old school weather channel with the old graphics and such but with the current data outside. https://battaglia.ddns.net/twc/
  12. oooohhhh you know all about it, sweet. Thanks for the ideas, I had some written down. One day we are going to Folkston, GA to hike around the Okefenokoee Swamp and take a boat ride too. Arrive Friday in SSI and leave Monday morning. Jenna needs a change of scenery than the triangle of NC lol
  13. It is sunny. It is the Tif Tuf Bermuda too, supposedly tolerates all kinds of drought, heat, high activity, dogs, etc. I am def not a fan of it compared to what I had in my mind.
  14. Oh dont worry chelle. We are leaving for the Golden Isles Friday, If im not home, it will def snow here and Ill miss it.
  15. Yeah I tried it too, You need an irrigation system in place to grow fescue here. I just hate the bermuda grass. You get all muddy in winter/spring with it and it grow not thick enough
  16. I HATE Bermuda grass here, it is simply the worst except for summer and even then I dont like it. Its doesnt thicken up and it holds water like a sponge. I miss my northern Fescue so much
  17. Harrisonburg is a great place. Waaayyyy better than Cumberland. Harrisonburg is more prosporous with a lot more things to do. Its a younger age in the city with the college there. I liked it there a lot an my mom and dad lived just south in the small hamlet of Weyers Cave. It does decent with snowfall there too. It can get warm but you get a lot of afternoon T storms there with the terrain to the west helping them develop. Cumberland is plain boring. I think they have lost a lot pf population over the last 20 years. I would avoid it at all costs.
  18. Lived in both cities. Cumberland: Depressed Economy. Drugs are rampant in the city. Not much going on there. Lives on tourism with the Western Maryland RR and the Canal path. ITs a very outdoorsy area. Walmart was the last biggest thing to happen there in 1993. Now they have a Lowe's building supply too. Food is mediocre for choices there. Comfortable summers and winter there. You are in a lower elevation so for LES you will have to drive 8 miles west to Frostburg. LaVale is the commercial area for the region with stores and restaurants. It is scenic with the mountains though. I dont miss living there though minus Frostburg and Garret County. Harrisonburg: A growing area for sure. A major college town with James Madison Univ there. IT has exploded over the last 15 years though. Traffic is becoming an issue on 33 and 81 and 11. Downtown is nice with a variety of shops and restaurants. The major commercial area is along 33, east of the city off I 81. You have plenty of choices there to choose from. Medical is pretty good there with Sentara being the main provider Re: hospitals, etc. Tourism is a major draw there with the Skyline Drive and Shenandoah Natl Park about 30 mins away. Massanutten Resort is a big draw for year round recreation. For big city, DC is about 2 hours to 2.5 hours away.
  19. Yep my aunt and uncle live in Little Rock proper and they got 19" of snow
