I think it is from snowfall reports sent into tjhe local NWS office. Plus the mountains you wont get exactly spot on as there are so many different variants that can cause snowfall to be different from mile to mile

As for here, LOL I dont trust anything unless we are locked in with cold air and the pattern is ripe. Raleigh is an unusual place for snow lol

Oh how I miss NJ. I never thought I would say since I left in 1999. But storms like these make me miss it and makes it all worth it. I grew up and lived right below the first 2 under Sussex.
