Had a good thumping with the storms here today. Picked up 1.49" rain so far today. See if we can anything else this evening.

At least the radar is lighting up like a christmas tree this afternoon close to us all here in central NC. Hopefully the cloud cover in spots will help hold the hotter temps down some.

Looks like 103 at 15:33 today on the daily climo report My PWS got to 105.5 but more like 102/103 and that was at 16:04 Why did I pick today to work on the garage. I am so disgusting like it is outside.

Most likely they are overblown. But at this point anything above 90 is going to be hot for me at least.

This heat today really got to me. Between sweating, feeling light headed at times and stomach was blah. I'm so done with this crap. It is useless and does no one any good. RDU did get a new record today at 101. My PWS got to 105.4, probably over done some but not too far off likely. I was just going through my pics when I lived in New Hampshire and that record snow season in 2008. This was at Franconia Notch in Feb 08. Gladly take half of this right now.

My wife is in the city and just walking twen blocks, she was soaked with sweat. ITs pretty gross as I Can recall living up there and summers were brutal. No relief whatsoever. For her to compain about the heat as she loves it, you knows its bad lol

That is odd it was lower than I thought it would be for the day. We got to 102.5 temp at 15:39 today.

Since we cant do cold and winter storms down here for the most part, I'd say lets got for the bit torch and set records. We know the piedmont can do heat no problem at all. We got that down toa science here

That cell that hit Falls Lake 6 miles north of me, we got missed by it. But we did get a healthier one around 630-730pm. Even a lightning strike by Wake Med brier creek in that cell and they had to put out the fire thanks to Raleigh FD. Picked up .40"

Had a few storms pop up here today, not much in the rain gauge. .13 fell here. And again now that I moved out of my old hood, they got nearly a third of an inch, go figure.

Yes I agree. There wont be too many storms popping up with that kind of reading or and even through the upcoming furnace blast. Definitely will be some records that will be set though. Stay hydrated everyone

Well that was nice this afternoon between 1-4pm. Rained pretty good here and I came home to see 1.07" in the bucket today. Of course my old home which never saw rain either got over an inch and a half. Ill take this though. The heat continues after tomorrow. Low tonight maybe 60*? That would be nice

It fizzled in Durham county before it got to Wake County. Most impressive part of the storms tonight at work was the outflow boundary gusts were impressive. other than that, NEXT

Your area got between a third and .6 of an inch. I wouldn't call that getting screwed.

Got the decent rains over night and this morning. yay!!! .85" for the day today. 1.03" for Arthur and company. You can hear the sighs of the lawns and plants outside this morning.

I was hoping for a little more but I'm starting to think I am the rain shield. So far .18" this evening. Better than the shut out. Radar looks to be quieting down now. One more last chance of maybe a heavier shower with that cluster near asheboro. looks good up I 85 towards the state line though.

I was told it rained for about 3 minutes this afternoon. WOOHOO. I didnt look and see if anything was measurable. Looks this next cluster of storms from the remnants of Artie will give us some rain thankfully.
