  1. Heavy sleet and freezing rain now coming down in Longview. The back side of the precip is not moving much at all. Temperature is 24F. Not good...
  2. Not much new snow, less than an inch. The rest has been sleet in Longview.
  3. Snowing in Longview. Models show precip lasting until about mid-afternoon... Hopefully it stays mostly snow...
  4. Here comes my round 2. Beginning as sleet in Longview. 2-3" of snow/sleet followed by 0.1"-0.2" freezing rain seems likely. Hopefully more snow and less ice. I took a drive around town tonight. As expected, the roads are horrible. Still pretty manageable with 4wd, but roadways and especially intersections are becoming very icy as vehicles have continued driving on them.
  5. Longview and Tyler broke all-time record lows this morning. -5F and -6F, respectively.
  6. 11" on my sidewalk on Longview... amazing.
  7. 25F and just switched to very light snow with tiny snowflakes in Longview.
  8. I'll have to step outside to see what it's like now, but I had to help a friend out tonight and there was ice forming on my bed cover. When I got in my truck to the second time is when I noticed more ice on the door handle and mirror. Roads/sidewalks were fine but that's been about 4 hours ago.
  9. Temperatures look to bust way low in Longview. Was originally forecast this morning to get to 40F, they've changed it to 38F. We've actually dropped from 34F to 33F as of 2 pm...
  10. NWS observations for Longview still shows us at 40F. But it sure feels a lot closer to 32F IMO... Thundershowers moving through now.
  11. I'm going to have to keep my faucets on steady drip/stream when I leave Thursday and return Monday... If that's even possible. I'm trying to travel to SW IA on Thursday and return to NE TX on Monday... With these trends I'm not sure if that will be possible..
  12. SPC has added much of northern TX and a portion of southeast OK to a 15% Day 4 risk area. I guess if we can't have winter, we might as well have storms! The dreary rainy/misty/cloudy days this week are not much fun.
  13. Severe weather in deep east TX and central/southern LA may be more interesting on Thursday.
  14. Very boring weather pattern. But it has been outstanding fall weather. Looks to be in the 70's for the next week. Only a slight chance of rain early next week but doesn't look like it will amount to much. When will it change? GFS says there could be a few chances for some precip over the next 16 days, but mostly only for the eastern half of the state. Nothing looks very significant/widespread. Texas could use some moisture.
  15. Yep, 36F here this morning. Had a new HVAC system into this summer. The heat wouldn't turn on yesterday. Luckily they were able to send a tech out and it was only a connection that wasn't plugged in.
  16. OKC sitting at 29F with quite a bit of precip overhead... how's that treating y'all up there??
