  1. 1999 was worst I’ve seen. Wheaton and Kemp Mill Glenmont and west 0.25+ and 27/28. Pepco had not trimmed yet and it was a 7 day out for some. We had to move relatives , Sharp demarcation as I was living in far a nw PG which is highest point and about 5 miles east and we definitely iced at 30/31 but only about 0.1 and not hard frozen.
  2. Definite reportable light dusting
  3. From 7pm yesterday until 10pm tonight BWI stayed between 32-34. I think there are stats and that seems unusual but not rare I guess?
  4. Dime sized every 5 seconds and dusting of a dusting. Can’t photograph it but visible to the eye .
  5. I know it This top of the line i-phone is better. Just got my first flat screen monitor Tonight!!
  6. Main page radar for DCA was still frozen at 6:55pm setting about 30 minutes ago. It’s been a failure of an upgrade so far.
  7. Something is and has been coming over last 10 days and for next 4. Models have not known what nor where and will not so neither do or will we. Looks like significant arctic plunge was a bust also even if two days for upper 20’s high upcoming A new method is desperately needed and I have the answer.
  8. Basically everywhere but DC. Corn dust,
  9. Sleet and rain and few flakes, down to 32.7 I moved cars and it’s bad out there now so do it quick if must
  10. Starting to get some big wet fatties 32.9F
  11. But I am a seasoned maker upper.73% of the time. Mr Ji*** I would loved for you to be in that snowband I drove thru. Weather buddies gotta share that stuff, I ahmember you as a 20 something!!
  12. 11pm 33.1 steady sleet 70% snow 10% rain 20%. I was going 60mph south so was in that 2”ph stuff for just 2/3 minutes but wherever that has set up is seeing very special
  13. 10:45 light sleet and rain with lonesome flakes. Down to 33.1 though
  14. This matches what I drove thru coming down from Balt 9-9:30. Then it was just north of Savage that I hit 1 to brief 2” ph stuff. If that held up its big. Cold air seems more nne aligned than nnw
  15. Might do this every 15 mins 10:30 moderate mixed just 5% snow and 75% sleet and 20% rain
  16. 10 pm Obs and travel report 33.4F with moderate sleet and rain 50/50 combo left Baltimire at 9pm with light snow and encountered heavy snow around Savage which became rain between laurel and Beltsville and when got on incline at 95 and beltway it started mixing with sleet and now back at Kemp Mill and sleet and rain, looks like 0.5” snow fell and now all surfaces including road have a coating of sleet
  17. 6:45 obs and travelogue in Baltimore now and no snow and dry pavement and 36 Left GREENBELT at 35 6pm and light to moderate snow. Got to Laurel and it became heavy to very heavy and was accumulating on sides of BW Pkwy and swirling around on travel part and temp dropped to 33.5. so looks like best evap takes temps down about 2.5 and hope we can get another degree or two out of that later?
  18. 5:15 obs and previous hour synopsis Currently 36 and snow with occasional mixing. Started off at 4:20 at 39 and rain then a 50/50 mix for 20 minutes and became mostly or all snow at 4:55
  19. We’ve got temp problems again at least for the start. 42/32 won’t work so hoping there is an interceding factor on the way ?
  20. NWS new radar is utterly awful. Took a fully functioning entity and made it a muddy mess that won’t load and the national map is a useless mess cluttered with individual radar site buttons that don’t load and delete the previously selected site and blot out the National See this is who is in charge of models also. Trying to be too precise and making a potential previously functioning tool almost useless.
  21. We wait and watch. Radar WV and satellites in control now. Models a mishmash of every form of precip with low confidence forecasts of 2-10” over last 24 hours. BC almost had me going yesterday with the “we would be lost without models after 24 hours”
