  1. Seeing that high depiction coming in at less than 1040. That’s good. Might end up warm front that just can’t go anywhere and snows .25-.5”ph for 20 hours.
  2. From 6 hours to onset we need a 30.25 or lower at DCA. The higher we go the further south it is.
  3. Almost like don’t need any real low but overrunning for 24+ hours. One of our best events , I think, was like 36 hours of 0.5”ph ? Love this set up.
  4. That was my greatest thundersnow event. 1” in 15 minutes and 3 for the hour.
  5. For days temps do not seem an issue to me. Skull crushing 1040 where it needs to be and we don’t want it further south nor much further east. Powdery at first, then bit wetter but white, then soon as low is east st of our longitude then powder. 12/15-1 on this
  6. Still think the Uber strong high is the player here . It needs to stay well up there. East of Hudson and not s/se. At least this is not yet another low to the west .
  7. I agree. That 1041 skull crusher needs to stay right where it is and radiate downward its marvelous cold.
  8. We want the low stronger than we normall would to progress into the cold strong high. I envision something like 35/10 spread just before onset. We don’t want a wacky 30.60 again so gotta watch that far more then any rain issues
  9. This is setting up nicely. We need an overly strong low that would normally mess us up with rain but won’t with that 30.40iah high over top of it. Mixing would be limited if at all. I can see a 35-10 temp to dew just before onset.
  10. Looks far more likely chance for suppression then rain. Snower or no goer.
  11. Randy-do you have that Obi Wan picture I used for years?
  12. We are finally seeing the cold air pooling in our best source region. People have referenced 1985 and that was epic cold, really only 1982 and 1994 outdid it
  13. Decent signs of some Mongolia sourced cold air making it at least into Northern PA.
  14. Keith had a good call, mine not warm enough, Matt a very good call for December
  15. You got it exactly. Right at 10k wrong at surface vodka that never poured.
  16. Until we can get some Mongolian high pressure we are going to stay in the now dominant pattern of lows into the lakes. Even worse it’s the central and western lakes and not eastern . Early November snows do not translate well for winter. The only high we got that set up right was a 30.60 crushing monsters. The 30.25s just can’t get set up and that must change. Looking for that Mongolian high far more than MJO or SSW
