Would not the winds to blowdown a dozen poles have to be around 90?

Absolutely. No wind, well over 90, humid, and build up towering . My friend in WV said over 10 telephone poles just blown down mostly snapped near the bottom

My report is tepid from Balt to Beltsville until 8:20 when it went insane deluge with water coming in under the doors of the church we were in. It was so loud. Sharp lightning but rain was feature in my travels

It’s ending but 11 consecutive negatives for DCA. Almost -6 average. mid 30 highs low 20s mins in winter.

The 2:30 pm hailstorm lasted60 seconds. It was intense with a lot of hail dime sized and about 15% nickle sized. During it temp dropped from 60 to 53, that’s probably as great a 1 minute temp drop as I have ever observed or close

Why the f’mk can’t we get a 45+ Day run with repeated -10 to -20 in Jan or Feb?? It did this last year same dates in May. Let’s cycle backwards 2021-22 winter

So snow showers at Snowshoe forecasted and winds gusting to 30 temperature 30. Didnt this happen last May 9/10?

Quieted back down to gusts 30-35.There were some whole houses creakers with this wind like whole house enveloped and not just one side getting slapped in a squall line.

Was that the 3 day one? There were some insane numbers in that one. I think DCA gusted 40+ for over30 consecutive hours? i

Pepco so much better than10 years ago. I was up at Rt29 and Randolph Rd and it was windy around 6pm but nothing else.

After couple hours lull it’s come back with gust to 49 i know they do t keep official wind chill but dark and 51 with sustained 25 gusting to 45 is cold

Peak gust 52 and I think winds will increase a bit from 7-10pm. Stay out of the woods warning in my forecast this evening and after feeling like 95 in the direct sun a few days ago by 10pm tonight it will feel like 35-40.

Periodic clod patches moving thru but during clear time now down to 40

Snow close like May10 or 9 last year? 2 months back to back below average usually happen but just gotta get it to cycle right for Jan and Feb, so once every 5 years which is kinda how DC has worked around me since 1976.Big snow and/or big cold every 4/5 years 1977,1979,82,83,87,93,94,96,03,06,09,10,14,16 3/4 are cold more than snow and the real monsters like 79,83,93,,96,03,09,10 works out to more like 1 in 7 .

44 high down in the holler. Sun just does not work on this downhill like up at a level soccer field until May. . Low 29.

Seen snow two different times today. If I read it right Snowshoe forecasting -15 wind chills and low of 10.

Torrents and winds gusting

There have been some real nice 10pm to 8am April overnights but by afternoon it’s 45 or milder.

48mph gust Roaring. Long stretches of 25+.

55mph gust furniture and cans scattered small limbs down could hear it roaring 5-7 seconds before it got here

I hope it gets moister because would be fun to see moderate precipitation meets 2F dewpoint.

Wow on the dew drop thought I might break my record from 1967 , 77 high didnt(DCA did at 79) and my midnight record is 58 also 1967 but I’m down to 57.7 at 11:15 ive got a diary of weather from mid sixties to 2012. It was on display at couple of early conventions. Almost every day of every month had something happen from 30 or so chronicles per year for 45 years.
