  1. The NW flow should kick in here pretty quickly after this initial batch bases through.
  2. Yeah its pretty dicey on the back roads. With the sleet snow mix things are really glazing over. We have dropped to 30 degrees also and I think things will just get worst as the day goes on with all this water freezing over.
  3. It really is. This has been a drastic change in our weather over a month to month in a half.
  4. Absolutely! Im glad we are seeing this early in the season than later.
  5. Our first winter weather advisory of the season was just issued. Its going to be a good one. Cold, snow, and dangerous wind chills.
  6. Good stuff Hunter. Im liking these early season cold air masses.
  7. Man I like the look of the 5H pattern on the euro. That is one heck of a trough even for the middle of winter.
  8. Yeah I agree. Its early and the models have only been trying to grasp the pattern as a whole. Its early but im glad we are getting cold air in here already.
  9. I really like the pattern the euro is spitting out. Not concentrating on precipitation but the 500 pattern as a whole.
  10. With this last rain I had 2.74 inches of rainfall total. I had a dusting of snow yesterday morning with a low of 26 degrees.
  11. Significant drops in temperature in Haywood. Off a high of 68 down to 51 degrees in a hurry. The wind is picking up.
  12. Man its hammering here in Haywood. Absolutely pouring the rain. Heads up for Buncombe county its coming.
  13. Will do! I plan on going up to Fines Creek or Max patch tonight to catch some flakes. Should be pretty easy though. The temps are going to start crashing soon.
  14. Both the NAM and the GFS look good for some backend flakes tonight. The wind is going to rip and the temps are going to plummet this afternoon so get ready.
  15. The euro was downright cold overnight. The GFS has been going back and fourth and what to do. Exciting times though.
  16. Oh we are in no drought at all here. We are still running much above average. We did get a bit dry but the last few weeks we have seen over 2 to 3 inches of rainfall before this.
  17. Its that time of year when we usually congregate back to the forum. It is nice seeing old and new posters here in the mountain forum.
  18. A flash flood watch from Haywood county south into Georgia. A lot of rain coming our way with an enhanced southern slope to really ring out as much moisture as possible.
