December 2020 Medium/Long Term Pattern Discussion.
Met1985 replied to John1122's topic in Tennessee Valley
Same thing as I was thinking. There has been no consistency at all for this storm. -
Not good trends on the models today.
-
Yep radarscope
-
A bit of a rain snow mix this morning. More changes with this next weeks system..
-
The mountains no doubt will see flakes its just how much. A skiff or something sizable. Baby steps.
-
Whats new in 2020.
-
Yep thats why I said im waiting until Tuesday for any real substance from the models.
-
Yeah the flow from this system was way different than anything I've ever seen. Places that usually get no flow snow had snow and normal places only had flurries.
-
The maps are nice to look at but im skeptical at the moment until we get to Tuesday.
-
Snow has really picked up tonight. Closing in on about a quarter of an inch.
-
Noooo!
-
Changes and different solution every model run for Christmas. GFS is much drier. Euro was different. Lets get to Tuesday and see what happens.
-
We have had some snow showers on and off but nothing to amount to much. Had a bit of ice yesterday but we just dont do well in CAD.
-
I would venture to say if that air mass were to come down that far we could see some below zero temps for the first time in about 2 years I think.
-
Yeah I was noticing that there may be several that sees flakes flying. Also did yall notice the ocean effect snow? Thats how cold this high is being advertised currently.
-
Yep was just going to post this. This is a true arctic front also. Probably going to be lots of wind, dangerous wind chills, heavy bursts of snow, and really cold temps.
-
There seems to be a different solution everytime a model comes out currently. I have been honking cold and snow for Christmas but we are a week away but fun to look at.
-
Sick pic bro
-
Snow is banking up against the boarder. Things should start to pick up a bit more along the boarder.
-
Yep I think so. The NAM did good at seeing this coming in today.
-
Should snow up there for most of the day I think.
-
In Pisgah Forest. About 3500 feet I believe.
-
Christmas still looks cold and snowy. Probably be the coldest temps of the season with the trough that is being advertised to come in.
-
I still like the idea of upslop snows moving in tonight through tomorrow in the favored areas. The NAM has been hitting this for several days now.
