  1. Looking out on Christmas day it looks like we will finally have a cold and possibly snow Christmas day. More to come on that later.
  2. Im sitting right at 32 degrees with minimal icing thank gosh. Good luck to everyone else fellas!
  3. Yeah crazy. We went down now we shot up.
  4. Yeah since the clouds have moved in my temp has shot up to 32 degrees....
  5. Crazy crash in temps here under clear skies. Down to 27 degrees already. Very surprised for my area.
  6. Yep was just going to post im already down to 31 this late afternoon.
  7. Its a ways out but both the GFS and euro have a significant trough moving in around Christmas.
  8. Yeah looks like both the RGEM and NAM keep the 221 corridor from Newland north in the hot seat. HRRR is colder and would be some great sleet-sledding weather. Yeah for sure. Eyewall has some thoughts about the latent heating also that could cut things down a lot.
  9. I could see that happening. Around Boone north could just get decimated by ice then upslope behind as the system pulls NE.
  10. Ice is beautiful but that much you can tell your power bye for a week or more. Really unless yall want to live like your camping you want that cold air to be thicker so its more sleet or for the cold to erode away quickly. These systems though are hard to nail down.
  11. I like what GSP put out. The models have kind of been up and down. At least put an advisory up to let everyone know hey things may get dicey. Which they did. If things deteriorate they can always upgrade.
  12. I think this backside changeover has some merit.
  13. Obviously the CAD regions in the area look to at least get some ice and mixed precipitation on the front end of this thing. Its hard to tell how long the cold air will hang onto those locations. I fully expect that all will change to rain then we get wrap around upslope snow for the favored areas. This would be an awesome snowstorm for us if we just had the cold air. Looks like we are going to get another 1 to 2 inches of rainfall.... Just add to the 2 foot surplus we already have....
  14. Nothing like a good old fashioned flizzard day. Exactly!
  15. Same here. Temps holding at 32 with sizzle.
  16. Yeah yall go read what Griteater has put up in the mid range thread. Its a great read and has some solid merrit to it.
  17. Great info grit and could not agree more.
  18. 36 degress here with a misty snow blowing in. The wind is ripping as wncsnow alluded to.
  19. Yeah you may get a few inches at the onset of the precipitation tomorrow morning. You and Joe are in a great position to see some high elevation snow.
  20. Well buckle up its going to get wet around here tonight and tomorrow. Lots and lots of rainfall.
  21. The CAD has to be very strong to make it down in our area then it erodes pretty quickly.
  22. Yeah this has been a concern for me watching this play out. We will lose the blocking eventually and that look never produces for us. A cold Alaska does not really equate to a cold East.
