I've installed a few battery (only) back-ups. Believe it or not, Briggs and Stratton was the brand I installed. They make battery back up modules for some reason. Anyway, I don't think they are great for a stand alone system. They are super expensive and obviously will run out if there is a long outage (more than a day or 2). But, if your power company charges a higher rate during peak times (3-10 pm), you can program the transfer switch to allow you to use battery power during those times and then charge them with grid power overnight when it's cheaper. So there's that... If money was no option, the perfect system would be a combo of solar and battery. The panels power your house and charge the batteries during the day and you run off battery power for the evenings/overnight. Wouldn't use much grid power during spring/summer/fall.

I work for AC Power Solutions in SE MA. We install and service whole house Generac generators. I have also installed many Kohler generators as well. I don't have a preference for brand. But I would definitely recommend just doing the whole house and not dedicated circuits. It might be a little more expensive but it's way more convenient

I was a freshman at University of Miami when hurricane Andrew hit. That was crazy, obviously. I'm not sure that the people wishing for a SNE landfall know what storms like that are capable of.

Was working in Taunton by route 44 all morning with off and on light rain. Just drove to a job in Brockton with dry roads and breaks in the clouds. Very sharp cut off for rain.

I’ve had my solar for about 12 years. Small system, only 18 panels. Bought the system outright, no leasing….No complaints at all. There are little issues here and there, but nothing major. I expected to see some decline in production as the panels have aged, but I honestly haven’t seen anything. Just had my second highest June production in their 12th year.

There was still about a foot back there from the SWFE last month. Very little melting in the back yard. Thinking we're around 30" from this storm

It's unbelievable. The wind has calmed a little in the last hour. But the heavy snow hasn't let up since i woke up at 6. Just constant heavy snow all day

This band has not moved all day. Just got reinforced from my NE. Still white out conditions with strong gusts. We'll be in the 30s, if not there already
