  1. I might have to make a fire in the pit later when I shovel just to go 4 for 4 here.
  2. After an hour and a half of some of the more painful sledding i've done in pouring sleet, it's time to prep tonight's chili and question the rational of the majority of my neighbors who are choosing now as the best time to shovel.
  3. 14 degrees, mdt snow with mostly grains and probably 10% dendrites. Eyeballing about 5 inches and a nice foot and a half drift on one side of the patio
  4. ...Then he remembers that we all have location identifiers in our profiles.... Yes, TADW would be lowest, much closer, and I think TDWRs scan at a lower angle than NEXRADs
  5. I'm not exactly sure I'm following your questions, as all radar's will show the "hole" if/when virga is present. If you're asking, which radar beam will be scanning closest near the ground IMBY, it's generally the closest to you geographically and the lowest tilt (tilt 1). I dont exactly recall where you live (it's been a minute), but I think the TADW would be scanning lowest for you and would give you the best idea when it would start reaching the ground. However, once we get into the storm and we get a melting layer it's probably going to get attenuated all to hell.
  6. Well, well, well. Merry Christmas. I don't post here much anymore, but to see this drivel as the first post I read today after the year I've went through, Sir, You can unequivocally go fuck yourself.
  7. The "NWS" shirt likely would have given me up had i still been there....
  8. Going back today at noon for a b-day party, I'll have to try that one
  9. Took a pic but it doesn't come out in the low light, but neat looking almost shelf cloud with the incoming visible from work in Silver Spring
  10. Great! Promotion, kids sports/activities taking over life, the usual.
  11. Making my annual appearance now that snow is in the forecast. What's new?
  12. Something burning nicely out west of Rockville. From downtown silver spring.
  13. Now im gonna stalk him. Stupid kids having to be picked up from school and all ruining my happy hour drinking....
  14. I don't exaclty expect it to be "puking fatties" tomorrow but this does not concern me with "marginal temps" nor "ratios". Only box not really checked here is the DGZ depth is relatively narrow.
  15. Flakes flying near arundel mills
  16. 2.6" near Arundel Mills. Had to tie up the grill to the deck earlier, it was getting a a bit frisky
  17. We've overplanted tomatoes and peppers once again this year and they're still prolifically producing. On our 4th batch of salsa and I need to go pick once again. My super-hots are finally ripening (Scorpion and Ghost chilis) so time for the hot stuff to be added in.
