  1. Been the theme for awhile now...we get these short stretches of dry weather followed by a very wet period again.
  2. Someone already mentioned it, but the oh so predictable posts by the same people either calling bust three hours before the storm is expected to start and or downplaying the storm a couple days before when all indicators look good...always the same crew.
  3. Keep in mind that noaa hasn't predicted a below normal winter in the NE in a long time...I believe it's something like 10 to 15 years? At my station, going back 18 years it's split evenly between above and below normal winters as are the last 10 years. The last three winters have averaged above however. Lot of cold Marches lately, if you want to extend things.
  4. Whittling away at the monthly temp departure, now at +4.5°.
  5. Raining nicely here...0.50" since midnight and 0.97" yesterday.
  6. On and off heavy showers today...0.89"...Temp split 79/69. Goodbye warmth and humidity
  7. Yeah lol, after having flooding rains for 3 months, I don't think being a half inch below normal the past ten days means we need the rain. Anyway with pwats so high any showers can add up fast even in places that miss the steadier rains.
  8. Most local stations were between 0 and +1° in Sept for avg max departures (my station was exactly normal)...Mins were the story with +4 and +5° departures. As for record high temps set, only one day here did it and that was a tie.
  9. 0.78" here...gets me over 50" for the year.
  10. Dosed off with nothing on radar...woke up to pretty good storm. Heavy rains and some nice thunder and lightning...0.68" in a short time .... it just wants to rain last few months it seems.
  11. Much like last year with the warm Oct...Was followed around Nov 10th with record early season cold, which took care of the remaining foliage quickly.
  12. For my station Sept was the 5th warmest with 40 years of record, driven entirely by the high mins. The average daily max temp was actually slightly below average but the mins were close to +5°. The month also had a small avg diurnal range of 11°.
  13. It's interesting the differences between recent October's and March's...Haven't seen a really below normal Oct since 2009...March is the opposite, since 2013, only 2016 was above normal...the other five years were solidly below.
  14. Yeah...Mean hi temp here for the month is close to normal, but the min is close to 5° above normal. Never recall such a difference before.
  15. Yes the GFS has been bad with its 2m temps since it's upgrade last year...And it was just as bad last winter. Not sure when the new GFS will take over but it can't come soon enough.
  16. Wow no more waiting 12 hrs for euro updates...cool.
  17. The only way to really know how much rain fell at your house, is to have your own rain gage. With convection the amounts can vary widely over very short distances.
  18. 1.80" today, 47.10" ytd., about 10" above normal ytd.
