  1. Same here, the snow is like concrete once it piles up, picked another 5 or 6" since this morning. Whiteouts everywhere, closed my office at 1:00 today due to conditions, should start winding down tonight .
  2. Only got a couple inches since yesterday as the winds have been out of the SW then W, now have switched to a WNW and are getting hammered pretty good.
  3. And props to Alpena as well they have done pretty decent this crappy winter somehow, not even very far behind Gaylord which is impressive in its own right or a good example of how abysmal LES has been this year.
  4. Looks like Caddy was the winner in my area for the clipper.
  5. Yea, we picked up about 5-8 form the clipper little lower than I was expecting, LES should give up about anther 12" through Friday, might be pushing 30" otg by then for my area. lake Mich wont be freeze all the way but the ice is adding up
  6. Congrats, looks like a decent LES event for our areas to the west, biggest issue we are having is the extreme cold is killing the DGZ flake size. 6-12" for areas maybe more in local sports, APX is optimistic about a couple dominant bands setting up which can up the totals for certain locals. Man do I wish Lake Michigan was about 100 miles wider
  7. I have about 18" OTG at my house right now, may add a few more inches this this clipper this afternoon. LES looks great though the weekend. Only negative is the cold.
  8. Yea going to bust pretty bad here too with the synoptic portion, just not enough moisture to work with, have better odds with LES after this system. Might get to 5-6" for my area.
  9. Nice, I picked up about 14" so far since yesterday well, combined with the snow from early in the week close to 2' has fallen. Definitely my deepest snow pack of the year for NWL. Might even fire up the sled for the first time/ After I take about 2 hours to clean up the snow lol
  10. Picked up about 12-14" since last night, NWL snow belts got hammered pretty good. Looks like another 4-6" today. Winter has finally arrived albeit 2 months late.
  11. Picked up about 6" so far today, currently coming down at 1+" hour right now. Heaviest LES of the season.
  12. Pretty Strong LES parameters for NNW flow belts in NWL, I bet someone see's well over a foot from this. We don't often get these good of parameters for LES around here only a couple times a year. To bad the 850's are NNW and not NW for my area.
  13. I have been up in Munising/Christmas area during these blizzards, we were stuck at the hotel at White Pine for 3 days as M28 was closed during the period. It can be downright nasty in that areas with the wind/heavy snow, wasn't even able to snowmobile it was so bad.
  14. Looks like Extreme North Eastern Northern Mi was the jackpot with this system, that doesn't happen to often. I ended up with about 7" have about 15" on the ground, looks like may see my peak depth so far this winter this weekend which isn't saying much. Gaylord still approaching -3' of snow on the season.
  15. Picked up 3-4" so far heaviest snow wont be hear until tomorrow morning thru afternoon. Definitely welcomed!!!!
  16. Have not had much to talk about this winter for the northwoods but looks like this week through next week will resemble a more typical winter. Models spitting out some pretty outrages snow totals for the next 10 days from both synoptic and LES. This weekend looks to be a decent outbreak which is coming at the best time considering the Ice cover is looming over our heads.
  17. I sure wouldn't complain if that scenario played out, last few winters have been just so-so around here.
  18. Looks like 2009/2010 Winter: 80.7" For APX locale although not sure this map is 100% official but it was generated by APX, I wasn't living up here until 2013 so missed that clunker of a winter. 2011/2012 winter wasn't much better lol.
  19. Nice Pic Bo! I am well over a foot since Tuesday night at my local as well, the biggest issue I had was with the 5 or 6" of concrete that was on the ground before the LES from the previous snows and freezing rain, made snow removal quite a chore yesterday. Next few days looks to settle down and maybe pickup a few inches here or there through next week. NWS APX is at 42" on the year I am closer to 50" almost 2' down for the year still. May be a struggle to even break a 100" this year in my area.
  20. Looks like another 4-6+ tonight for the Northwoods, with plenty of cold winter has indeed arrived (ast least for a short period)
  21. Getting our first LES event since November, hard to believe its been that long. Anyway picked up several inches last night and a few more this morning/afternoon already. Someone around my area will see double digits before Thursday afternoon.
  22. Picked up about 4" of fluff since last night, still coming down pretty good, finally feels/looks like winter, hard to believe its Jan 9th though.
  23. Picked up about 3" of snow and .2 of ice, snowpack is pretty damn dense now around here as well. Looking like 6-8" of LES Tuesday Night - Thurs Morning.
  24. Granted this is in fantasy range but this is a nice look for the Northwoods going into the 3rd week of Jan
  25. Looking like we may start seeing some true arctic air coming down towards later Jan, models now starting to show this on long range. Granted its still a volatile pattern but I think we will finally see some chances at some true LES outbreaks, albeit a little late but might cash in a little hopefully. I have been watching desperate sledders running on mud on the trails this past week around my area, a very sad sight to see.
