  1. You are correct on that. With residual left overs I have .27” in the station for today. I see that line out West but it has to get over the mountains. So thinking it will not stay intact. But could be surprised.
  2. Well that was slightly anticlimactic. Looked all robust rolling in only to do the split that my area is known for. Did pick up .22” so far but all the fury of what was coming in the energy shifted to my North with a new storm to my South near Point of Rocks.
  3. Just took the trash out and wow the lightning. Looks like a crazy storm blowing in.
  4. While a bit warmer out than yesterday, 71. Just got myself a nice cup of tea and popped my slippers on. Also I know there are others on here with PWS in their yards. I have had my station reporting to Weather Underground for sometime now. But I finally was able to get my reporting set up for PWSWeather. It does not activate right away as it does quality checks of your station before making it active. But I have mine up and reporting now. You can find the link below in my signature. They have a handy App also for on the go.
  5. .03” sometime in the early morning hours. Have the cloud mist again this morning. The sinus suffers in the house, which includes me, have not have the easiest of times these last two days.
  6. Ok wow I am surprised to see In picked up .59” after midnight. Knew we would get some rain but not that.
  7. When we get the mist from the clouds I call it spittle. Like the clouds are spitting on us rather than a drizzle.
  8. Yeah we were like that yesterday. Had to go over the mountains here in Frederick to Middletown. The sight of the smoke in the valley was present: Mind you today we are in England with this spittle cloud cover and musty temps.
  9. Just got a surprise pop up right overhead. Picked up .04”.
  10. We went out on the deck to eat dinner and felt cool air come through. Everything is West of the Potomac tonight.
  11. Was down picking the older Ms J. up at Dulles but watching the weather. Saw a storm headed right for our house in Frederick. Just got home and checked the gauge. Picked up 1.16” out of just that one cell.
  12. Eating lunch out on the deck. Temp wise not bad, 82 as I am still in shade on the backside facing West. Humidity though is thick 69 percent. Going to water my deck plants so when the sun does come over they are not shocked.
  13. Life seems to like to sneek up and bite you when you think things are going smooth. Have been there multiple times this year.
  14. When Mr. J and I first moved to LA back in ’99 we were introduced to June gloom. Was quite the experience for us after hearing from our friends it was always sunny.
  15. It has been sitting over my area for at least the last 20 min. Not moving fast at all.
  16. Have a nice cell that started just to my immediate SW. Had some lightning with it at first now just heavy rains right over me. ETA getting some nice fireworks again.
  17. Occasional lightning over here.
  18. I thought we would be left out also. Have had the same conditions here. Was surprised to see us on the far east end of it.
  19. Some of those showers were downpours. We went downtown to the Arts Festival. Even with umbrellas and rain jackets had to hang in a few of the tents till it let up.
  20. Decent amount of rain pushing through. Starting to get brighter as we get to the backside. Was actually surprised it did not get torn up by the mountains.
  21. The ground has remained damp from the .03” that came overnight. Had some farm sitting to take care of this morning then came home and planted some flowers. Going to head downtown for the Arts Festival but feels like it will be a sticky afternoon.
  22. 0.15” from this morning. Dropped the oldest Ms. J off at Dulles for a trip up to Maine. She said it was quite a bumpy takeoff. Just made dinner and stepped out on the deck to see if we were eating out or in. Promptly decided to eat inside tonight.
  23. With it looking like the rain is done, here is my final month tally for May. The cell that went through here before noon put me at 10.04”
  24. Just got put under a large Severe Thunderstorm Warning that stretches most of that line.
  25. My Weather Network app has it. But like others have said RadarScope does not show it unless you go into the current watches issued. Radar Omega is showing it though.
