I have both my college kids home unexpectedly this weekend. Putting a new perspective on Mother Nature. We get thrown curve balls in weather much like we do in life.

Hoping today is the last day of August in October. I have planned a lot of soups in for the next week. So either it will have to start cooling down or I will have to crank my AC and eat them. The cats are wanting their heated donut beds on also.

Was taking one of our cats to the vet early this morning. The fog was so thick that I could not see my kids former HS driving until I was right in front of it. Thick as pea soup as they would say.

Out at Rehoboth Beach for a few days. Was warm yesterday. It is absolutely jungle like today. Glad we did most of our walking yesterday. Although the 4 mile bike ride this morning after breakfast left us dripping in sweat.

In my experience watching a friend’s chickens, they are never easy. Tiny Velociraptors running around. Mr. J and I are trial running the new EV out to Rehoboth Beach for a small vacation this week. The weather looks to be a bit better than over here cloud wise. Plan on doing a lot of exploring.

2.88” for the day. Tack on the .27” from last night and that was a solid rain that was needed.

Looking at radar things seem to be winding down. With what I got last night and then today I am sitting at about 1.50”. Honestly I am surprised. I really felt that this would stay South. But it was so needed.

Just went over an inch here. I am really surprised. With the .27 I got before the reset at midnight this is a pretty good system. Just got some thunder.

Thought we would get something off that stiff pushing up from the SW. But the shield held strong and it disappeared. Watching that stuff moving East out of Baltimore to impede the shield hopefully.

Another dry day over here in W. Central MD. Have noticed an early corn harvest this year. The field behind my house is done, has been for about a couple of weeks. On our walk this past weekend you could see where you would have no problem crossing parts of the Potomac on foot to certain islands. Very shallow in many places. I know weather gets into patterns seems we have been stuck in one for about 3 years now over here. Many days where I have watched hopeful rain coming in only to see it hit the dry dome. Have had a bit more storms break through this year than past. But looking at my weather station have not had any rain since 9 days ago. Rain for me gives a feeling of refresh. And I need a refresh. Going to make some apple crisp now.

Decided to take a walk this morning along the C&O Canal park. Temp was just right with a slight breeze.

Ok I just looked. What is all of that showing up?

Looking to do more power today than yesterday. Threw in last year to compare. And this is with one Micro Inverter not reporting. New one is on its way.

Back in England today. Drizzly mist and 65 here.

Heading down to The Anthem tonight for a concert. Looks like we may catch some of the rain forecasted down there.

After only a 1.21” total for August this one day in early September was really needed. Yeah it all stayed to the South of downtown. Went warned just after it passed me.

Got 1.12” out of that nice bit of rain. At times could barely see out the windows.

Big puffy fall clouds this afternoon. While sitting out on the deck spotted what I thought was just a dying branch but after a closer look it is just the fall colors starting early.

Moved the younger Ms. J back up to school in PA today. At 9 am it was 57 up there. So nice to lug all of her dorm bags in.

Fall just rolled in over here. The clouds look like a late September early October sky.
