Was going to take some trash out to the curb as pick up is tomorrow and I put the can out already. Opened the garage and saw it was pouring again. The garage itself feels like a wet sauna. Decided that it can wait till tomorrow morning. The cell over me seems to keep back building so thinking will get close to the 2” mark soon. Backyard station currently showing 1.89"

Looking at radar the areas to my west out between Brunswick and Jefferson that had flash flooding last week look to be getting dumped on again. I forget who is out there in Brunswick but maybe he will see this.

Just went out on the deck to check my potted plants for standing water. Have slightly sheltered them so doing good. Ballenger Creek runs right behind my house behind the tree line. I can hear it running. Normally you never would know it is back there. Other than that nice vertical rain which allows me to have some windows open to enjoy the sounds. 0.66” currently.

Just got back from dropping off the oldest for a 6 am set call time in downtown Frederick. Steady rain although looking at radar some heavier stuff looks to be headed up this way. 0.37” currently

We got a cap system installed to help with backing up to a tree line. Although over the years I really think we should have gotten larger gutters than what the builder put on. In very heavy rains we still get run over due to the size of the gutter being too small. So I am going to pull my flower boxes out onto the deck so the dirt does not get pushed out of them.

I did not know how much I have missed these regular garden variety thunderstorms. Have a nice storm coming through right now. Nice low rolling claps with a steady rain.

Nice to see the comparison. After that last storm that went through about 20 min ago my daily is up to 0.49”

Event is 1.66” Day currently at .34” Month is currently 2.84" Had to run my oldest to a film set this morning and there was some low lying fog/mist in the neighborhood.

Cell coming up from the South and it is pouring. Lightning strike very close sent the cats running for under the beds.

Yes it does. And it has been quite awhile since we have gotten a nice garden variety thunderstorm and soaking rain. I don’t always want severe storms it has been thundering for close to an hour now with occasional flashes of lightning. Sounds like my Thunderstorm station on Pandora that I fall asleep to.

Getting some lovely rumblers over here. Have opened a window to listen and can hear the rain very calming.

I was wondering about that. Was watching radar and was saying to my husband anyone on 270 from Gaithersburg up to Urbana was getting slammed. Picked up 0.17” out of that line up here. Was non eventful the heavy stuff split me to the South and North.

Watching that storm to my SW out of Leesburg. Right now looks to go just to my South but am hearing thunder off of it. After last night’s surprise pop up I may just bring in the catio just in case.

Getting a nice downpour with thunder and lightning here. ETA got 0.19” out of that cell.

84 out. Have not been outside as I am dealing with an allergy attack from having open windows.

Want to seal our patio. Low temp apply threshold is 50 degrees. Currently 56 here but the patio is under the deck and on the west facing side of the house so am thinking I am going to wait for one of the 60 deg + days this week to do it. Honestly though I really hate wind and I think that is helping me make my decision.

I thought it would but just picked up a nice .40” here just SW of downtown Frederick. Just got some thunder and lightning also.

US 15 Runs from the VA/NC border through Warrenton up through Leesburg and Frederick MD and into PA into Harrisburg and beyond I believe. It is the way I get into VA from Frederick. And I take it up to take my youngest to college in PA. So the line that just went through Frederick started just west of US 15 and is now headed towards the I95 corridor.
