As fun as yesterday was it stings a bit to see us going into what appears to be a silent time for the next 7-10 days. After this weekend rainer there is no precip on the map within 2000 miles of the area (looking West). The accumulated precip between hour 80 (weekend rain) and hour 240, on the 12Z Euro, is basically nil through most of PA. Would allow the mud to dry but waste away about 1/3 of our remaining climo winter days of now to March 15th. That Wed 2/27 threat phasing is my hope we do not have this long of a break.

Back then it took 5 min to download one frame of the GFS and trying to look at all 384 hours doubled my monthly Prodigy bill.

This is the 12Z FV3 from 240 Hours to 300 hours after a 3 day snow storm. We were talking about it in a few replies so did not think to add any more detail.

Someone posted something in the MA thread. That's your every day 48-60" bulleseye in the MD Panhandle.

It just hit 50 despite the snow pack. GFS fails again.

The FV3 purposely put that all 240 and back so we could not post snow maps!

So those that like to read models...when going to check out the 12Z American LR just go ahead and pretend the GFS is not there/already decomissioned and use the FV3 because it is our latest and greatest and has to be the best (and will make you feel better than the old hag GFS).

Then he will have to pay for his neighbors window when it goes flying into their house. :-)

Still 28 here with soild ice. Just noticed the GFS keeps most at 40 or under now. Snow Pack may live on another day.

I feel like I underreported at 6 1/4 seeing those Franklin County totals. That is my penalty for not using a snow board.

Looks like some substantial FRZ or Sleet is about to enter the Capital Region.

I thought MDT recorded over a 1/4" already.

I just looked at the HRRR and it actually has snow over me as of 8PM. Not even going to guess how that is possible but impressive call/coincidence. When I looked at the column hours ago it had retreated way north.

We continue to have occasional snow flakes mix in when the rain gets heavy here...probably related to the elevation. Solid ice out.

Moderate Frz and 27 here. Raining hard enough to see it in the street light. Seems the sleet went a bit north of here. Upper Strausburg was highest accum I saw around here so far today. 10"

We really have not had anything that requires a snow blower this year. If I feel I am tired or, like today, the next day is going to be warm I will only open one garage. The driveway is skinny until it gets to the rear of the house when it turns into almost 3/4 the size of an NBA court! Most of this years snow have been more about pushing and less about lifting. November was the worst.

Count me amongst the group that does not have to fill a gas tank to clear my driveway. I have mentioend before it is 1/8 of a mile long so the first time we get a MECS or above I will have to strageigically shovel only a small path to get to the garages as 2-3 hours of lifting is enough.

Saw several posts about latent heat from heavy rain...I think the other issue with heavy precip would be the temps it pulls down from above this evening (for those wanting ice). It is still below freezing down to Richmond so nothing is warming us here except for heavy precip. Appears it is above freezing above 925MB now (up to 500) LSV and West.

HRRR continues to lower temps this evening...now getting back down/staying at 27-29 for LSV and 28-30 here. @sauss06 does not get above freezing until 2 or 3AM now. Just checked 850 and 700MB and both are retreating back through the LSV right now so may really be an ice storm. I scoffed it off this AM.

NWS seems a bit bullish for this Friday night into saturday (Mag mentioned as well). We are actually back to light snow here...snizzle, light snow, whatever...flakes falling.
