  1. It's only 29F/Frz rain there now and temps will only go down so tomorrow morning may be a hassle..
  2. It basically looks like a damp/cold, dark low clouds rain event day for most of us. Anything remotely icy is much further N/W... 40F/rain
  3. Was thinking the same...I guess let it play out. 40F/light rain
  4. That's an impressive difference for being not that far away from each other...
  5. 30F/Frz rain State College, and 37F Harrisburg. Colder air on the move....
  6. It's 55F here and 54F in Quakertown...Philly probably gets to upper 50's.
  7. I know you've been following weather for a long time but to think/follow any model 11 days out IMO is a waste of time if thinking fantasyland. Could it happen? Sure. But I would put odds on a limited event/bust. I could do better things w/my time. I'll grab interest if it's within 3-4 days of the storm but sure as hell not following for 10+ days. I'm more w/Iceman thinking this month will pretty much suck. Yeah, maybe a little event or two and no super torch then we ease into March where I really lose interest. Again, good stuff could happen (and I hope) but I would bet against it and we'll just go ho-hum into Spring and then dreaded Summer. Temps climbing/47F
  8. I swear the fog is more dense now (1:30pm) then it was this morning and the fog advisory expired at 11am... 43F/Fog
  9. I always thought their instinct was to start heading N due to length of day (longer). I guess temp has something to due w/it as well. Our days are getting longer but I wouldn't think "start heading N" longer quite yet. 41F/Fog
  10. I think the geese already punted winter and headed back. A little pond near me had a flock of geese pecking at the ground this morning. Good thing about this rain/fog is the car is receiving a decent rinse off. Thinking about watching the radar and in between heavier bands.....go outside w/a bucket of soapy water and do a quick wash then let the rain wash it off. I have zero concern about icing and hope the township does as well so they don't lay down anymore salt/brine or whatever... 41F/Fog and the snowpack is patchy
  11. From my experience, usually the cold takes longer to move in or the precip moves out quicker than expected...or the total screwjob, both. 38F/Fog
  12. Lol...possibly, in my younger years. My point is if soil is 29F (and will rise overnight/tomorrow)...the (black) roads hold the heat and are warmer. Most people don't give two hoots if the grass/trees get .1" of ice. All they care about is road conditions..
  13. ^You're a worrywart. If it's not a drought it's soil temp which is barely below freezing at 29F (and will rise overnight) and I don't drive my car to/from work on the soil/grass...worry about the fog more so.
  14. 6abc 6pm ice map. Personally I think it will be minor unless you go far N/W... 38/light fog
  15. I'm just looking ahead to the next 7+ days and as far as snow it's kinda meh...which brings us to about Feb 10th. 32F/Still foggy
  16. I'm almost to the point where I would punt the rest of winter in exchange for above average severe weather Spring and below normal Summer temps...
  17. The car had a icy glaze but travel is fine around here. Maybe some leftover brine/salt from the weekend storm on the roads because I don't think they treated the roads this morning. At least I didn't see any trucks out... Fog/28F
  18. That was my longest power outage, 5-7+ days if I remember correctly. Heavy frz rain and temps in the low 20s, it adds up. Trees cracking, falling in the streets and the ice took weeks to melt, rock solid. That was one cold winter...some record lows.
  19. Exactly. I may be a strange breed but I enjoy witnessing severe events and the adversity it may cause. (No electricty, internet, heat, icy/snowy roads) Your body shifts into a different gear and you adjust...
  20. Depends on how quick the cold air rushes in but I would think Berks is prime for some icing.... 28F
  21. Again, it's a weather board. Doesn't matter if I root for it or not, it will/will not happen as we have no control. It could be me, you or a guy down the street named Harry who experience damage. I like active weather. Wind, golf ball size hail, 2" freezing rain...whatever. You haven't been here very long but this subforum is pretty dead during the summer if there's nothing going on. I mean days w/o a post because the weather is boring...
  22. So do blizzards, hurricanes, severe weather/t-storms, tornados, flooding etc. This is a weather board so you take/follow what mother nature throws your way... 38F
  23. I betcha many of us started off using weatherbug then quickly realized it sucked and useless. Hoping for a ice storm Friday, it's been a while. Exploding transformers, cracking/creaking branches and limbs w/a shiny coating on everything ...the whole 9 yards. 38F/sunny
  24. Back in the old days when I had a morning paper route (5:30am) my huffy and I hit the asphalt many times because of freezing fog...quite deceptive. 20F
  25. Hell, if I receive a little mix and 1" of snow at the tail end I'll be happy. Always enjoy rain changing to mix/snow events...total nightmare the other way around. 32F
