  1. I'm building it in Warren and Clarke counties. Then all the NOVA / DC crew will finally feel what it's like in the rain shadow.
  2. At the very least end this drought.
  3. I'm pretty sure NWS has to feed that thing quarters to run.
  4. The vast majority of snow is always on the margin to begin with. Margins of being barely cold enough. Rare is the snow falling with temps in the teens. It's usually 27 - 32F. Add 3F background warmth to that ... we're cooked. Literally and figuratively.
  5. Have 2 kids with it all this week, so i feel for ya. Hope you're feeling better soon.
  6. That one gave me like 5" out here. That was a really good event. I suspect this event will be somewhat less exciting.
  7. Agreed. The rainfall is what interests me. In this pathetic region, rainfall has become as exciting as snow used to be.
  8. Trashcans across the region are hurriedly taking precautions.
  9. Yep, we're relegated to being happy with 34F slush trashcan toppers.
  10. We smoked so much cirrus out in Cross Junction I failed a drug test. We didn't get a single flake out there. Remember driving into town the next morning and hit snow dusting at the Virginia Farm Market. About 2 inches at our office in Kernstown. Went over to my place in Front Royal that evening and there was over 4" on the ground. Unreal.
  11. I remember back when clippers would give us cold, fluffy snow. Thankful for some rain at least. * .21". Pretty wet for a clipper here. That would've been a nice snowfall with a 15 - 20 ratio.
  12. I've experienced that. As well as rain and fog and blue sky.
  13. Since I'm lapping the field in the snowfall contest, I expect the same level of respect Kammerer got for his call last winter.
  14. 18F multiple rounds of snow flurries yesterday between about 9AM and noon.
  15. I, myself, want more of a compromise. I'd rather have lots of big events.
  16. Wishing all a blessed Thanksgiving. Safe travels to all those crossing over the river and through the woods to Grandfather's house you go.
  17. 1.14" Desperately needed in lot of parts. This should put an end to all the fires in VA.
  18. He is the weeniest of weenies. He'd forecast snow in the middle of summer on the equator.
  19. Well, some things are. Death, taxes, and - for us - heat. Heat is always guaranteed for us.
  20. Dear Canada, Enjoy our smoke. Best regards, Virginia, USA Sic Semper Tyrannis!
  21. . 31" yesterday. Little over-performer. Much needed.
