  1. Brushed again by a cell to the north. 3 minutes of rain. These cells are small and moving fast today. Hard rain, but no duration. Strange. It feels like a spring pattern where the small cells pop up and move quickly. Nickel and diming. But, it is refreshing to at least see big drops and hard rain. Picked up another .13". .23" on the day.
  2. Just brushed again. Literally, two minutes of rain. Rained hard for two minutes and turned off like a light switch. .10".
  3. Got sprinkled on twice yesterday, the first as a cell again moved along east of 81 and later from cells just west. Both times, 1/2 mile from beneficial rains. I don't know when my time is ever going to come. We've been painfully close several times this past week. .03" total. 2.25" since Memorial Day.
  4. I was curious about that report because 1: no one lives in that area of the subdivision yet and 2: we have no trees except young plantings. So, I went walking to that area. There is nothing damaged, not even the young trees. This report was from a trained spotter? Really weird. Maybe someone entered wrong coordinates?
  5. It's literally 200 yards NW in my neighborhood. But I didn't get anything like that at my house. Literally a few gusts and 1 minute of rain. That cell moved just to my north.
  6. I got .20 from those. The second cell died on my doorstep and moved north. My office got a good rain out of it. I watched live on my ring cam from work. Most of the .20 came in the first cell. It was something at least. That's the most rain I've received since July 4th.
  7. Got split by the first line, and the second line is riding up 81. Pouring just to my east, while I've gotten nothing but drizzle.
  8. Once again, all the storm coverage is south of 64. Anemic coverage north of that. 93F in stephens city, 5F above forecast.
  9. No surprise, not a drop again. Now more than 2 calendar months and still below 2".
  10. Rain to the east, Rain to the west. Hot and drought is what we do best.
  11. I'm bestowing honorary Stephens City citizenship to you. Welcome to Hell.
  12. Oh goodie, more rain for the tidewater.
  13. We couldn't even do that in El nino last winter.
  14. To keep shaded from the sun?
  15. If those were actual precip totals posted above, and not anomalies, then I'd beleive those maps.
  16. There will be rain next week. In the usual areas. But not for the rest of us. And I already see forecast highs in the mid 90s by midweek, which will verify closer to 100F for us in the desert wasteland.
  17. The death of the gulf lows ended our chances for rain here and cemented our fate as the world's only humid desert climate.
  18. Oh, I can see the cloud top from here.
  19. .07" gulley-washer today. That puts me up to .15" this week. Hope the river and streams can handle all the runoff.
  20. 2nd time in 3 days Strasburg getting blasted with heavy rain and I get drizzle.
  21. Oh look, another day and another batch of rain to our east.
