44 degrees and rain, feels like winter. Thought I posted yesterday but it seems gone now. 1.05 inches from Saturday, over 10 inches in April now.

Saw a photo of trees and overturned tractor trailers of where the tornado supposedly crossed I-40 earlier. Could have been straight line winds too. Nothing not extremely heavy rain here and a few thunder claps.

1.58 inches of rain in the last 24 hours, now over 9 inches for the month with 1.5-2 more inches being modeled through April 30th. I can't imagine there's ever been a more rainy 28 months than the prior 28 months in my area. Basically since the drought broke after the severe fires of 2016 the spigot hasn't really closed off except for a few weeks last September.

That tornado video was way closer than I ever want to be to one. I imagine the power for the traffic lights was probably underground or possibly even on a solar back up. I wonder what the f rating was on that tornado? I was in the slight risk area but that seems to have been downgraded to marginal at this point. So once again the non-stop heavy rains are the bigger issue here. Going to approach 10 inches again this month it looks like, possibly exceed it. I've not actually looked at the rain gauge yet from today's rain but I was at 7.43 inches coming into this event and it rained heavily overnight into this morning.

I never bother with tomatoes before the first week of May. Not uncommon to get to 31-32 during that time frame here.

Cold, blustery and a few flakes out there this evening. At first I thought it was dogwood blossoms blowing past me.

Ended up with 5.02 inches of rain. Tons of mudslides including a large one on the ridge behind my house. County road crews had to do major work on two bridges by my house today.

One of my brother's insurance clients lost their home. He's okay, just no power. Tornado was a few miles S and East of him.

Only experienced a few rumbles of thunder out of this system but it's been a heck of a rain event with quite a bit of sustained winds and gusts. 4.79 inches of rain and possibly some more still out West with the upper spin moving this way.

I get off at exit 4 or sometimes 5 (Shallowford/75) whenever I go to my brothers house. Seems to be a lot of businesses in that area vs a lot of housing. But I'm sure there were lots of homes hit as well.

Actually I had my malls mixed up. He lives about 10 miles from HP mall, probably 7 as the crow flies.

My brother lives maybe 4 miles from Hamliton place mall near Hixon.

I was at 29-30 for the last 4 hours. It won't do my fully bloomed apple trees any favors. Shouldn't bother the cabbage in the garden. I hold off on anything frost sensitive until May. Been burned too many times by frosts the first week of May.

Got extremely windy here but the storm itself never managed to connect with the line in Kentucky like SPC thought, so it didn't even rain here with the line passing.

1.26 inches overnight and today. 9.82 for the month. So barely going to miss another double digit month. 29.36 inches for 2020 to date.

.96 in the rain bucket yesterday. 7.11 for the month. Another wet one incoming today into Wednesday. The Euro/NAM/RGEM/GFS show pretty wide spread general 1.5-3 inches with any area that gets under a strong storm liable to see more. Even on the low end that would stick me with a 5 day total just over 5 inches of rain. High end and I have another double digit rainfall month in the books with nearly a week left.

Raw day today. Only managed 42 degrees. Saw an MRX graphic that most areas were 7-13 degrees warmer than here. My area into Wise VA were cold. Was foggy/misty here. Maybe the clouds were thinner in other areas.

Apparently the viruses have a hard time in humidity, so maybe the rain will actually slow it some.

Widespread damage reports from McCreary County 911. Roads blocked, trees and powerlines down. No reports of destroyed homes so far, thankfully.

Big time hook echo about 15 or 20 miles north of me in Southern Kentucky in that warned storm. Hope our SE Kentucky folks are okay.

A friend of mine found a photo in her backyard here in Campbell County. It's one of people whose home was hit in Cookeville. It's probably 90 or more miles away. Wild.
