We need to get over this obsession of waiting for ice crystals to form in the sky. There I said it.

Still nothing but a cold rain in West Knox County. I am looking for Stovepipe to start seeing flakes consistently so I know it's near.
-
I am all rain at the moment in Cedar Bluff maybe it will change over soon.

The coldest winter i have ever spent was in a little apartment going to MTSU in Cookeville. It snowed 23 inches that year. It was crazy. I am not completely sure about the total (very close)but the schools were out of session over 2 weeks.

Can you post that map?
-
Did they not state that there would be limited precipitation in their early disco and now they are using it as a reason for limiting snowfall? Maybe I am being to hard on them.

You are going to need a chiropractor in the morning to treat that neck.

Well This makes since since they just increased the snow totals in the central valley MRX Despite the dynamics, HREF guidance shows this band of moderate to heavy snow moving through pretty rapidly. This fast movement combined with the limited precip earlier this evening has led to decreased snowfall accumulations forecasted across SW NC, the E TN mountains, and the valley. However, HREF guidance points to the band pivoting across the N Plateau through SW VA the longest, so slightly increased snowfall forecast amounts up there overnight.

Went out to change the batteries in one of my weather station sensors and found that all my snow hadn't melted off . My grandma would always say it was sticking around for the next one to visit. That is all I needed to hear. Snow incoming!!

Maybe Atlanta but would that effect North Central AL? I thought the same thing about Atlanta.

Explain how Oak Ridge is under a winter weather advisory but Knox county is not. What is the reasoning?

Sleet is showing up as far south as Anniston AL

MRX has their usual mantra of less than a half inch possible for my area in West Knox county I believe this is down from earlier today. They added sleet to mine as well.
-
A little selective editing with regards to what @shawneastTN said. This is most likely the reality. MRX will call it an outlier and double-down on virtually nothing on the ground from morristown down the valley. This in turn I think will have a huge impact on increased chances of valley accumulation. Do I need a sarc. tag?

From MRX afternoon update. Main focus will be the Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning system. The vertical temperature profile makes this forecast, as always, tricky and quite variable across the forecast area. Will rely heavily on ensembles to help fine-tune the area forecast but latest operational model runs of the NAM, GFS, and ECMWF are aligning to a potential significant snowfall.

Snowing in the Cedar Bluff area. Nothing better than a surprise event.

Radar looks beautiful at my house with not a flake falling. Correction there is now what looks like dadruff falling.

Don't know if I have ever seen the lack of coordination between offices that is evident between MRX and OHX. If you live on the county line of Roan county you have a 20 percent chance of snow. If you live on the county line of Cumberland county 10 feet apart you have a 90 percent chance of snow showers.

He looks like a sly one. I bet he is a hard one to handle. -

Looks like the southern valley may be in transition if radar scope can be trusted. Are there any posters that could confirm it? -
NAM looks almost identical for the knoxville area cuts down northeast tn in some places. This is going to be a roll of the dice for everyone.

Christmas Eve/Christmas 2020 Arctic Express Snow Obs.

You guys seem to do better in northwest flow events in northwest Knox than we do in the Cedar Bluff area. I am a little over 3 in and that is great for my area. It would be great to get a little bonus but those streamers rarely work out for my area.
