Yep it is over mabe next time.

I believe it has moved east of my area in west knox @ ceader bluff. I went from rain back to all snow and I think the ground level temps have fallen because the snow is starting to accumulate. Even when rates go down I stay snow..
-
Turning white in west Knox. Mod snow now after a burst of heavy snow. All snow under that red blob in west knox. i think it can be ingnored.
-
I am back to all heavy snow.
-
looks like we have switched back to mostly sleet and snow dont know it it will last. Now back to all snow,
-
I am in crest wood hills just went to rain. It is moving up the valley. Learn to enjoy the moment.
-
Still snowing in west knox but may not last long. In a lull right now. Not 5 miles from farragut.
-
I am at solway snow coming down good ground getting white.

Here in West Knoxville we can’t seem to penatrate the dry air. Looks like we should be geting good snow. I remember a time when we were suppose to get a heavy snow and we ended up without a flake because dry air was never overcome. Hope that does not happen.

We are having sleete and rain and snow mix here in west knoxville in west hills.
-
First tiny flakes in west Knoxville.
-
I am glad Jeff added his insights about Knoxville proper because the disco sure did not say anything about Knoxville proper. Thanks Jeff.
-
Moisture sure is taking its time reaching the ground. Rockwood has a ping for snow. closest to the valley I can find, Might be in the valley for all I can tell.

This is going to be real interesting to see what happens,
-
Nashville radar is not working now. Great. Keep reports coming in.

Weather is so complicated woth so many moving parts. It is a miracle and a lot of hard work and thought that we do as good as we do
-
I have currently got a verga storm. Hope it does not last all day. I have seen that happen before.
-
What a tiime for Radar Scope to fail. Nashville is the only one working for me. It shows mosture over me know in Knox so we are going to see what happens very soon I hope. I am at 31 in west Knoxville.
-
Cloud deck in knox is solid and it looks like virga is already over top of me. It came racing in fast. Most likely just the weenie in me hoping.
-
My Radar scope is having problems but it looks like mosture is about to get into west knox at least from looking at the radar out of Nashville MRX is an hour and 45 min old. That is moving fast.
-
Glad to have you back on this go-round. You are in a great place to keep us in the valley abreast of what is coming up the Valley.
-
I have a good cloud deck over me now in west knox so maybe we will not get much heating if that holds. There is a lot of retuns in north Alabama more than I thought we would be seeing. Maybe it will not take long for the returns to reach the ground.

Here come the sun.

I must admit I do not have a lot of meteorological knowledge but have observed the weather since I was a small child. Seen setups like this many times. With the due west component sometimes cold air can get traped in the valley. The other thing that can happen is high clouds come in and allow the sun to heat the low levels and then the cloud deck moves in and traps the heat which evaporative cooling can not over come. Living in the vally has so many things that can effect our chances for snow. Just have to wait and see what happens,

Funny you should say that. Their computer generated forcast does crazy things. My forcast for west knox has increased. Today A chance of rain before 1pm, then rain and snow between 1pm and 3pm, then snow after 3pm. High near 37. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. They added an inch possibe on my night time forcast which had nothing before.
