50/50 here now snow/sleet
-
Oo thats awfully close. Still all snow here a few mies W of Middletown Temp up to 29 Approaching 4" EDIT: I think im starting to hear a bit of sleet mix in.
-
Yeah 4p or so should do it but with these rates we should get to atleast 5” 28 w/ mod snow 2.8” otg
-
Don’t think we mix at all. Their forecast is gonna bust low for our area. A bit surprised they went conservative when most guidance was consistent with us receiving 5-6”
-
14z HRRR shows 5-6" throughout Orange County and most of Sussex. You should be good for 2-4" 27° Mod Snow 1" otg
-
14z HRRR looks to give 5-6 throughout Orange County 27/26 Mod snow 1" otg
-
84 looks to be the actual dividing line this time around 26 here w/ moderate snow falling
-
The extreme northern sections of Sussex and potentially W Passaic are in play for a plowable snowfall. If I was in NJ northern Sussex is where I would wanna be especially the Montague area.
-
26/14 right now. Cold enough!
-
I remember us starting this separate thread prob 10 or so yrs ago. During the winter season its def needed. Tomorrow is a perfect example
-
They weren't around for the 80s & 90s. I moved up here from the Bronx in 95 and couldn't believe the difference in winter weather. UHI & proximity to the Atlantic really kill that area in terms of winter weather.
-
You guys in Sullivan should do very well with this. Rock Hill, MSV areas are prob a lock for 6-8". As long as we dont see any sneaky warmth in the mid levels here in northern orange we should be good for 4"+
-
36° w/ lots of sunshine currently. I do think Orange goes to a warning for 4-8". WWA for Rockland & W Passaic for 2-3". Once you cross the Hudson south of the Putnam/Westcher border is prob primarily a rain event with some snow to start. I-84 is the new "NW of 287" line
-
I think 84 is still the marker. Even the warmer NAM is 5-7” in the area. Amounts do dramatically drop off to the SE
-
Not sure if you are aware but we do have an interior thread that gets fairly active during interior only events.
-
Unless you are in Sussex, Orange , Dutchess into NWCT there isn’t much interest in this storm. Most of this forum is in NYC, LI, urban Jersey where it’s gonna be 95% rain
-
Sloatsburg will prob be the transition line between accumulating snow & white rain. I’ve seen this story many times before. Rockland especially with these gradient storms is a snow hole. To get into the 5” + amounts you prob want to be in northern Sussex/w Passaic into Orange County. Watches should be going up for Orange/Sussex in the next update
-
3k NAM is more in line with most guidance. 5-8”
