  1. Congrats I still think flash flooding is the greatest risk today, however, with the high dews and what should be steep llvl lapse rates we could certainly see some wet microbursts today
  2. I really noticed the loss of daylight in the morning this morning. Sad...very sad. Nights getting shorter, this has been a horrific summer for convection. I hope winter is super warm b/c the last two were brutal
  3. Yeah very true. It’s very difficult anyways to get temperatures to spike above 100 and keep super high dews. Like you said...either way it’s going to be quite nasty outside regardless.
  4. I’m thinking that dews end up mixing down into the mid 60’s. The high clouds may halt some areas getting to 100 or 101. There are even some hints we could see convection during the day
  5. Saturday screams high cloud debris. also, I am not buying these 105-110+ heat index values being tossed around Saturday. So many running with those numbers. Even if there is no cloud debris I don’t see dews staying into the 70’s
  6. Maybe he gave his phone PED's We were going to a g2g and wanted to hit the road
  7. I could have swore his thing said like 980'....and his house was a bit higher up than where he picked me up. He was picking me up where Electric Blue is
  8. I think the majority will but I can see stuff beginning to develop as early as 2-3 PM.
  9. I was with Kevin once near his house and he showed me the elevation on his phone...it wasn't too terribly far from 1,000.
  10. Flash flooding is def a concern tomorrow. I'm honestly not even sure if there will be a ton of lightning tomorrow. Just slow-ish moving training downpours with a few CG's tickling the ground once in a while. I guess locally where an updraft can accelerate towards space some spitting CG's will happen.
  11. It would be more impressive if they held during the daytime. Dewpoints are typically highest around daybreak and then during the evening so if that were to occur I don't find that overly impressive...I guess getting a dew of 80 here is, but if the dew is still 78-80 at 1:00 PM...that's notable.
  12. I can picture Kevin jogging at 4:30 AM Saturday with a psychrometer handy
  13. Daily record high PWATS possible tomorrow? Yeah...those 80 dews are NOT happening Saturday...not a chance in hell.
  14. It does appear we should or could certainly mix down dews as the day progresses...probably starting off quite humid
  15. Any posts about the Super Derecho? 24-years ago today! What an event. Woke up about 6:00-6:30 AM that day, wasn't feeling well and go out of bed and went into the living room to turn on The Weather Channel. Waited about a half an hour and went to my mom to see what was up...turned out the cable lineup CHANGED that day. So we found it and BOOM...there it was. Fell in love with t'storms since. CAPE well into the thousands before 7 AM WE NEED SOMETHING LIKE THIS AGAIN
  16. The d8-10 period. That's a pretty impressive shot of cool air. Hopefully we can get some good t'storms ahead of the front
  17. Haven't looked at models (at least up this way since Friday)...do they still show a major cool down after next week? I know the GFS was advertising what I would have to think would be record low temperature potential across some areas.
  18. at school when my roommate wasn't there I would crank the thermostat to 75 sometimes...I think I did higher a few times and I accidentally passed out and woke up in the middle of the night like a dry sponge
  19. I can certainly see how this is problematic in the work place. But 68-72 is a perfectly reasonable range. Some people get hot easily and others cold. I know I'm one who is cold easily so I just carry around a sweatshirt or light jacket...no biggie. But if people are complaining and the temp is in that range...they just have to adjust. Like if you're cold wear something extra. If you're too hot...well I know you can't take anything off but if that temp range is seriously too much for you to handle I'd go to a doctor lol
  20. I like the consistency...although it certainly does make it feel even worse when going outside. Come to think about it though maybe its more around 65-70 in the winter...I forget.
