And this is new? We are used to the old Lucy trick, we are veteran experts. Lube it up and brace for the worst my friend.

Sipping on a Black Tuesday from The Bruery while watching Elf. Tasty concoction....highly recommended if you like strong American Imperial Stouts: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16866/51257/?ba=maltbeard01#review

I was wondering if anyone was going to look at h5. Surface is variable....h5 is where the money's at.
-
Same just west of Philly....18 degrees and just heavy enough rain it all frozen with not much latent heat release. Stunning landscape year. Glaciers everywhere.

Splurged tonight and picked up a bottle of The Bruery Black Tuesday. Pricey, but tis the season. Damn near 20% ABV from a Bourbon Barrel conditioned Imperial Stout. Going to savor it tomorrow night. Currently sipping on a Cape May Brewery Honey Porter. Enjoyable. I'll post my review on the former tomorrow at the beeradvocate.com

Cmon, you know those drones over NJ are controlling the weather and causing this
-
Close to a HECS for Nova Scotia, yes. Doesn't appear very close for you or me. Euro op or euro ai?
-
Dr. No is, and has always been, a c*ck tease. I fully expect it to show a flush hit next run then take it away never to be seen again in usual Euro fashion.

Shouldn't come as a surprise, but we will struggle with any meaningful snowfall in the lowlands thru at least Christmas but more likely until January, if the Nina analogs are worth a damn. Latest GEFS long range finally wants to settle into more of a quasi-Nina look with a trof in the West and a flat SER building. However, the Aleutian low is present which bucks the analog and allows a cold air source from Siberia into central Canada. EPS/GEPS still try and revert back to a +PNA look. I alluded to this about a month back....we will be fighting Nina climo for a good portion of the winter (-pna/ser) but there is a difference this year imo with the Aleutian low and -EPO allowing for cold air to be very close by. Some of the analogs ive seen posted do in fact have this general appearance and are split with the -EPO. However, none of those analog seasons were particularly snowy east of the fall line. As we head into January, if history is correct, we should get some chances. My wag is we see a 2016 redux sorta thing with a hefty one-off snow event then some minor ones outside of that but nothing earth shattering as we try and time the cold with the moisture. In any event, doesn't appear as there will be much meaningful wintry precip to track over the next several weeks until after Christmas, potentially into the New Year.

I like alot of the Other Half products....never found that particular one. Most of their stuff is the same grain bill, just different hopping varieties and techniques....smart marketing on their part. Their stuff is enjoyable but I started getting bored with them.

Or Xmas 1 even

What are you guys drinking on this Sunday? I picked up a 4-pack of Fiddlehead Second Fiddle and they had Alchemist Focal Banger and Heady Topper so grab 1 of each of those as well.

That 500mb plot on the right is nice. Full blown cold air source CPF type thing.
-
Even with the advertised 500mb hemispheric look, we are going to take time to rebuild our cold air source. Granted we aren't torching per se east of the Mississippi, but most of our cold source regions are.

GEFS quite amplified, EPS flat in COD. Completely different outcomes.

We are vets at this though (most of us here) and know the drill....something shows up on an op at range early in the season (mid nov-mid dec) and when it doesn't verify ppl start saying we wasted half the winter etc. When in actuality, anything prior to Jan 1 really is a bonus along the i95 corridor. Just because ppl remember it snowing once or twice on Dec 5 as a kid, for example, that really isn't the norm. Never has been. Are total seasonal averages down past decade or so? Sure. But until the can gets kicked while in prime climo, there souldnt be cause for alarm yet on the winter.

Can only hold Saquon down so long. Tucker needs to go.
-
If y'all drop this one after keeping Saquon in check and with one of the Eagles best WRs out, then I just dont know. I fully expect Philly to cave late but we'll see. P.S. Sorry bout the Terrapins yesterday

GFS et all have thrown everything and the kitchen sink at us for next weekend. Goes to show how many pieces are involved in trying to figure things out. I'm still hoping to eek out some flakes with the fropa on the 5th. Verbatim tho, that's a crippling ice storm for alot of folks in the interior this run.
