  1. It's a start... Winter conditions have arrived a lil bit. 18 with a w/c of 13, has snowed 2" overnight. Temp should continue falling to around 12 degrees by noon... 4.5" otg
  2. That's your takeaway from his post? You are incongruent.
  3. Are you leaving the board or what? Weather is cyclical, we'll have good winter weather again. I hope you're able to move to N Wisconsin sooner than you planned. Everything is Okay, it's early.
  4. I’ve read the book and was lucky enough to see Carl Bohnak in Marquette in 2016, where he gave a presentation on the book, along with some awesome photos not shared in the book. Carl is also the local meteorologist at TV6 in Negaunee.
  5. Between Covid restrictions and lack of snow, it is a literal ghost town around the area. Despite no real cold, lakes locally are frozen(a month late), and I've been able to do some fishing on a pond with about 2" of ice. Drastic difference between today and around the same time last year.
  6. 12 for the overnight low after a high yesterday of 28. Had a dusting of snow Thursday, an inch Friday, another dusting yesterday evening... I think beavis would be perfectly satisfied with this type of weather but for the UP this time of year, it's strange. I haven't received more than 3" in a single day since Nov 1st...even noticed a few bear tracks down by the creek, which are normally weeks into hibernating by now. MQT was 5.8 degrees above for November and 5.9 above for December so far... still tho, it has been cold enough to keep what little snow we've had, otg.
  7. I Hope you don't carry this type of negativity with you daily.
  8. MQT Interesting fact of the day is that for only the second time in our office's history, October (22.1 inches) received more snow than November (10.0 inches). The last time this occurred was 1990 Oct (9.6 inches) and Nov (2.5 inches). While this isn't a prediction for this year's winter, 1990-1991 winter season received a below normal snowfall with only 131.3 inches. Weather records for office date back to 1961. #906wx yay
  9. What year was this taken? I’m pretty sure I wasn’t born. lol
  10. Hey, thx! October had all the makings of a great beginning to winter with 27" of snow and a peak depth here of 13". However, It has been all downhill since. It was plenty enough cold in November, just nothing to work with. This time last year I had received 48" already... this year, 37" so far (which is actually pretty close to normal). Will be interesting to see how the winter plays out. 2021 will be my eighth winter here, and I've never seen under 200" in snowfall in a season... the snow will come, it will get deep (I think). As far as businesses go, despite a good summer, lot's of mom-n-pop's are on the brink, still. The latest round of restriction's will really hurt because downstate snowmobiler's aren't exactly going to eat and drink outside this time of year. I hope you're able to get your annual ride in.
  11. November was a terrible month for snow. Total here was 10 inches...about 15-20" below average for the month. I currently have 3 inches otg. Ohio has more snow. December looks hostile as well.
  12. It's been an awesome Fall up here after a snowy October but it's time! Could be looking at a very prolonged north wind snow off the lake, with 2-3 feet possible. If 2' falls, that will put the season total here at 60".
  13. Laying in front of the fire, heading that way. Night Hoosier you rule
  14. Can't take antlerless here in this part of MI or I would... for 6 years now I believe. Wolves and coyot's sure take their share, however. I see shredded remains frequently. I don't mind buck meat tho, as long as it isn't too late in the season.
  15. Looks like we got all of November's snow in October this year. 1.3" of rain yesterday, then it ended as some freezing rain and a skiff of snow. Doesn't look like there will be meaningful snow on opening day this year. Pretty rare for this area. Have had my eye on this guy since last summer but he was too young last fall. I know his routine pretty well and he's use to my scent I think. Hopefully he is mine.
  16. Guess I’m speaking for the upper lakes mostly. Lake Superior Water temp is forecast to rise over the next 10 days. Will lead to very heavy snow here in the weeks to come.
  17. Yeah it was in a few places. MQT is going to provide a full list of records today. I have to say, this is very enjoyable. It's nice wearing only shorts outside as we near mid-nov.
  18. Tue- 60 Wed- 73 Thur- 62 Fri- 73 And mid-60's to near 70 today- Monday. Oh the ways we're going to pay for this!
  19. As of today the snow is completely gone. The temp reached 72 yesterday and “only” 58 today, and 60’s (some upper at that) look good for a few more days. I’m not complaining... getting a lot of yard stuff done. Been here long enough to know winter will roar back and the snow will get deep.
