    A rare sunny day in these parts before a clipper brings 2-3" of snow overnight and in the morning. Not a big fan of below zero cold (-13 this morning) and lack of significant storms, but this type of pattern will at least keep snow showers in the forecast with an inch or two falling everyday probably.

    Fast and furious for a while. I'd estimate 5" fell here between 9 and 3 today. A lull now but should begin to pick up later on the backside... will likely see a window of heavy lake enhancement. EDIT: Upon measurement it was closer to 4".

    I spent quite a bit of time in other subs the past few days and none have the vibe of the lakes. Their banter is awesome. This is one of the more boring subs.

    The persistent light lake effect showers ended here around 3 am. Since Thursday night, 5.5-6" of new snow fell with temps staying mostly in the single digits. I'm sure ice is forming pretty quick out on Superior. Most places are near average to slightly below normal in snowfall Some seasonal totals as of today: MQT 99.5" My house 110-115" Herman 119.7" Calumet 127.1" Chatham 82.2"

    Similar over this way with around 4" through tomorrow afternoon. Persistent ne/ene flow will keep light snow going through Saturday it appears, with additional light accums also. If not for the extremely dry air and few other negating factors, would probably see some decent amounts... However there's always a sneaky surprise somewhere and my area is prime with a ne flow. Something to watch.

    Sorry to disappoint... I wasn't allowed to post for 10 days. Received in excess of 2'. The best I could measure was 29" (MQT 27.4"). It snowed heavy for 15 hours straight, and constant for 48 hours.. Here's a couple pics. Over the 100" mark for the season.

    I have a P.O. Box in Big Bay but live about 8 miles sw of there In the hills near the Silver Lake Basin. 275-300” a season on average. born and raised 12 years in NC. Love the mountains. a few pics from winter 2019 Summer cabin near my house mid-March 2019 my place

    Cost of living much cheaper all around and yes, plenty of snow especially if you're coming from the south. Winter lingers well into April and sometimes May and that can be a rough stretch after 6 months of snow otg. 70 inches of snow here season to date with a peak depth so far of 27".

    After 8 years it takes a little more to get the adrenaline going than it use to, especially as it gets deeper into winter but I'm always pumped for a big snow. Must be around 70" for the season here.

    4 inches fell here, most falling before 9 am...1-2" tomorrow night. Nothing to write home about. 22 with some windswept flurries tonight.

    A mild 29 degrees this evening after receiving 4.1" of 18:1 ratio snow from 3:30-7 tonight. Forecast called for a 40% chance of snow with less than a half an inch. Never even got an SPS. Warm day tomorrow around 35 with some mixed precip. December at MQT 36" MBY over 40". 19 days this month with at least a trace and 15 days with measurable snow
