  1. I would rather snowshoe through the backcountry and enjoy the serenity of nature vs riding a sled. It just isn't fun anymore, and it seems a lot of people can't ride without being completely shitfaced so it's dangerous as well. I don't even keep track of how many people die up here each year due to speed and alcohol.
  2. This is why we should still have the lake effect snow advisory.
  3. Went to bed and it was 5 degrees, woke up to 20 degrees and snow falling along an energized lake enhanced front crossing the area. Looks like 3-4" of snow has fallen so far. Temp falling through the teens.
  4. Frigid night... -21 here. Wakefield -27 Randville -24 Doe Lake -27 Stonington -30 Champion -27 Coldest temp was on the Marquette/Baraga county line at -32.
  5. -11 currently (wind chill -22). It's impossible to heat the whole house with the stove alone. The furnace keeps kicking on about every hour. Bedroom is chilly
  6. -11 here this morning and will likely just crack zero for a high. Too cold to enjoy doing anything outside. Took this as I was out feeding the birds and squirrels. They sure are consuming a lot lately. Not much snow the past few days either... 2-3" of arctic dust. I'm ready for a pattern change.
  7. Another cold day with quite a bit of sunshine. Temp reached a whopping 9 degrees- down to 1.
  8. Wow. I've never seen you speak this harshly before. People are so quick to want to ban others. Congrats to all that got snow, and to those who didn't, take a pill.
  9. Was down in Big Bay getting mail yesterday and there was a dense foot or so of wind driven snow on the ground. Hills south and west and out to my area have spots of 30" plus. Trails I crossed while driving looked in great shape. Hopefully things will stay good into March.... usually do.
  10. Yep not much difference between our areas. I think everyone is ready for a pattern change LONG TERM...(Tonight through Friday) Issued at 401 PM EST FRI JAN 21 2022 The weather for the next 7 days will continue to alternate between cold and not quite as cold but still pretty cold, with multiple bouts of light snow and lake effect snow - just as it has for past couple weeks.
  11. A rare sunny day in these parts before a clipper brings 2-3" of snow overnight and in the morning. Not a big fan of below zero cold (-13 this morning) and lack of significant storms, but this type of pattern will at least keep snow showers in the forecast with an inch or two falling everyday probably.
  12. How far off the Lake do you live? One of my fav Youtuber's (Mav) lives in Two Harbors.
  13. I have been insensitive to the Chicago area and their snow drought... humble apologies.
  14. Fast and furious for a while. I'd estimate 5" fell here between 9 and 3 today. A lull now but should begin to pick up later on the backside... will likely see a window of heavy lake enhancement. EDIT: Upon measurement it was closer to 4".
  15. I wasn't referring to this thread being boring. I was just commenting on how much livelier in general, even in slow times other subs are. Unbunch your panties Stevo
